When The Curtain Falls

30 ~Out in the Open~

Bella arrived home to see Jenna on the couch, nervously typing on her phone.

"Hey. What are you doing?" Bella asked with concern.

"Texting Jake." She didn’t look up as Bella sat down, watching Jenna’s thumbs rapidly peck at the screen

"About Josh?"

"Yeah, Josh still won't tell anyone what's wrong. I know something's up,” Jenna said, finally looking up and putting her phone down.

"You should go over there, spend the night."

"You think so?"

"Yeah!"

"You're right, he probably needs some company. Okay." Jenna got up and put on her jacket and shoes. "I'll just walk. He's only a few blocks. Jake is coming here tonight right?"

"I don't know. He hasn't responded to any of my texts."

"He's really worried about Josh is all."

“You’re right. Okay, give me an update when you can,” Bella said before Jenna left.

***Jenna's POV***

I cautiously knocked on the door as I arrived at the twins' apartment

I waited a few moments before Jake swung the door open. His eyes were red and his face was pale with pink splotches around his eyebrows. I had never seen Jake cry before, but it was eerie as he looked the same way when Josh cried.

“Jake!? What’s wrong?” I asked him with concern. I rubbed Jake’s arm, as I came in shutting the door.

“Why don’t you ask your boyfriend that?”

“He didn’t tell you anything?”

“No, but I have a strong feeling I know exactly what he’s trying to say. It hurts me when he feels like he can’t tell me things, Jenna,” Jake said, going into the kitchen and getting himself a glass of water.

“Where is he?”

“In his bedroom. I need to get out of here, I can’t bear to see him like this anymore. Maybe he will talk to you. I’m going to your place for the night. Good luck,” Jake gave me a quick peck on the cheek before leaving the apartment.

I cautiously walked down the hall and knocked on Josh’s closed bedroom door.

“Go away Jake! I don’t want to talk.”

“I’m not, Jake,” I softly said, leaning against the door. I heard footsteps and took a step away as Josh unlocked his door. He said nothing standing in front of her. "What's wrong, my love?" I gave him a weak smile which he returned with tears. He crashed into me and sobbed.

The Next Morning

Jenna: Hey, how was your night with Jake?

Bella: It was amazing. He’s amazing in bed when he’s stressed or worried but he wouldn’t tell me anything about what’s wrong with Josh.

Bella: Josh won’t tell me anything either, when I got there, he and Jake were just yelling at each other.
How is he this morning?

Jenna: Still sleeping.

Bella: Jake wants to know if we should come over and get some breakfast

Jenna: Yeah. That would be nice
I think we’re gonna have a little party tonight, to cheer him up

Bella: That sounds good, I will tell Danny and Sammy
