The Unexpected One

Meeting Malkia

The school day went by with absolutely no problems that came up. All day, it was me and Jason in a secret bubble. It was amazing. We arranged to hang out on Friday afterschool. I can't wait until then! But now, I have other things to be excited about. I'm going to my mom's work to meet the new leopard cub! I'm so excited!

I got to the bus and then the bus left and got to the zoo. I went in throught the back gate and went to my moms office in the vertrinary clinic. I walked into the office and saw my mom sitting in a corner with the cub and some little devices to check and make sure the cub is healthy. "Hi, mom." I whisper to her as I walk in. I walk over to her and the cub.

"Hey Tara," she replies. "This is Malkia, the new cub." She says, proudly.

I beam and say, "She's beautiful."

"You bet she is," my mom replies, "And she's perfectly healthy."

"That's good." I say. I smile and pet Malkia on the head. "She is so cute" I say.

"Yeah, she is pretty adorable." She replies.

"Yep. I got homework to do, so I'll start that." I say. I walk over to the desk in the other corner. I pull my binder out of my backpack and take out a worksheet. I quickly finish it.

"Hey, Tara. I'm done With the checkup I'm gonna bring Malkia back to her mother." My mom says.

"Ok, I'm done with my homework, is there anything you want me to do while you're gone?" I ask.

"Yeah, you can clean off the equipment." She says, pointing her hand in the direction of the desk and the equipment. She takes Malkia and leaves the room. I walk over to the equipment and put on some latex gloves. I take the equipment and walk Over to the sink in the room. I take some soap and wash down the equipment and place the clean equipment into the cabinets. I then peel off my gloves and put them into the trash can. I walk back over to my backpack and put away my stuff. I pull my backpack over my shoulder and walk out the door into the waiting room. I wait for my mom and when she comes, we go out to her car and get inside and go home.

A/N I am sorry this is a short chapter I had problems with things not saving so I would almost finish the chapter, forget to save, and then I'm back to the beginning. Sorry but I know it's a chapter of fluff, but it's cute fluff, ok? I promise you a good chapter sometime this weekend!
