The Unexpected One

Carrying it Out

I walk into the band room and grab my instrument and folder out of my locker. I go to my chair and sit down. I quickly unpack my instrument and Jason soon joins me and sits down next to me.

"Do you have the pen?" He asks me.

"Yeah," I reply, "make sure nobody sees me making the dispenser though."

"Ok, got it." He replies. I take the pen out of my folder and get to work. I have to pause a few times to play, but I get the ink dispenser done before class ends. I finish class comfortably and then it's time to plant the dispenser onto my phone.

When I leave the band room, I grab a piece of tape so I can attach the dispenser. I then start quickly walking down the hallway and I spot Kimberly. I race down so I'm right behind her and tape the dispenser to the piece of my phone that's sticking out. I then quickly walk past her and go to my last class. I glance at the clock as I walk in. I have about an hour and a half to prove my innocence. Part way through class I ask to go down to the office.

"Can I go with her? I need to go down there too." Jason asks. The teacher gives us a skeptical look, but lets us go down to the office. She writes a pass and hands it to me and Jason and I head out of the office.

"It's going to be ok." Jason says, holding my hand.

"I know." I say.

"We'll get through this. You're not going to be in trouble." He says again.

"I know, you've already said that!" I say.

"I get it, I just don't want you to be stressed out." He rubs his thumb against my hand.

"Fine." I say. I smile at him and realize we're at the office. "I'd like to talk to the principal." I say to the receptionist.

"Ok, he'll see you now." The receptionist says after Jason and I are waiting for about three minutes. We walk into his office and he's sitting in his chair. He looks up at us.

He asks, "Do you have my evidence?"
