"Yes!" I exclaim, a little bit too loudly, "I just need to talk to Kimberly real quick, can you call her down?"
"Fine. Give me a second." He says. He uses the phone thing and calls down Kimberly. I sit down into the chair by his desk and Jason sits next to me.
"We're almost there." Jason whispers to me. I smile at him and he smiles back. This is going to work and all of my problems will be solved. I can be public with Jason, I can be true friends with Hannah, and I don't have to worry about Jackson. I am so glad about the last one. And the first one.
Kimberly comes into our room and points at me and starts crying, "What do you want?!?"
"I need you to take the phone out of your back pocket." I say, standing up. Kimberly reaches back to my phone and probably tries to hide it.
"What phone?" She asks.
"Show me you hand." I say to her.
"Why?" Kimberly asks.
"Now Tara, this is a bit bizarre I need-" the principal starts.
"Beleive me. Show me you hand, Kimberly." I interject.
"Fine," she says. She takes her hand and shows it to us, palm up. And it's dark with blue ink. "What!?"
"Kimberly, why is your hand blue?" The principal asks.
"I don't know!" She says, surprised.
"I'll tell you why," I start. I turn towards the principal and say, "You see, after you left the room this morning, Kimberly showed me that she had my phone. So, I placed an ink dispenser on the phone so Kimberly's hand would be covered in blue ink and you would have to believe me."
"It is bad to steal somebody's phone Kimberly," the principal says, looking at Kimberly, who is bright red with anger, "but why do you need your phone to prove you didn't abuse Kimberly, Tara?"
"Well, to prove to you where I was while Kimberly was being abused." I say. I grab my phone from Kimberly and go to my texts with Jason. "I was teaxting with," I gesture to Jason, "Jason Lupus."
The principal takes my phone and looks at the texts. "Yes, you were texting Jason last night." the principal says.
"So, is she off the hook?" Jason asks.
"Yes. And Kimberly, you are going to detention for at least until the end of the school you for framing Tara for this crime and stealing her phone so that you wouldn't be caught." The principal says. Kimberly gasps and Jason and I hug each other.
"I really want to kiss you right now." He whispers in my ear.
"Later, just not in front of the principal!" I whisper back. We laugh at each other and leave the office holding hands. We rush to get our stuff, for the bell rings in a few minutes. Once school is over Jason and I rush outside and go to the playground. Jason embraces me and kisses me. His lips are soft and warm. We pulls me closer and we stay like this for at least a minute. I break away and say, "This has been a horrible and amazing day." I whisper in his ear.
"Yep. I love you." He whispers back.
"I love you to!" I exclaim. I hope the whole world heard that. "I love Jason Lupus!"
"And I love Tara Dane!" Jason exclaims. We kiss again. This is cloud nine. I am free for the popugirls and I can celebrate with Jason. This is absolute perfection.
