Chapter IX- Theseus

(Y/n's POV)

We stay on call for a couple hours. I finish off my essay while listening to the clacking of technos keyboard. He asked if it was okay to play a couple rounds of bedwars while I wrote the essay and I said yes obviously.

Occasionally, I'll stop writing and end up glancing to my phone screen.

He didn't show his face at first and I didn't want to force him incase he was uncomfortable but I'm so glad that he did.

His hair is darker than I pictured and it looked a bit ruffled up at first, like he just ran his hand through it but that's nice.

His eyes are a rich brown, like an early morning coffee. They add a certain softness to his face that I adore.

While I was having my wheeze attack earlier I caught a glimpse of his smile. His eyes went sort of squishy.

'He's cute'

I clear my throat and add a final tweak to my concluding sentence in my essay.

Me: "Alright, I think I've finished it."

Techno: "Okay send it to me I'll have a look now."

Me: "Finish up your game first."

Techno: "Too late. I've closed the tab. Send it throughhhh,"
He stretches the word.

I laugh and send him the document.

I watch nervously as he opens it and his eyes gaze over the writing.

I can tell he's concentrating since his brows are furrowed. I hear his mouse scroll.

At first I fiddle with one of my many rings, spinning it between my fingers and rolling it along my desk, but then I decide to put my head on my arms and wait.

A few minutes later I watch his eyes go down to his keyboard and hear him type something.

He looks back to his phone and gives me a head-tilt smile, but I can't figure out why.

My computer pings and I open the returned document.

There's writing on it.

Maybe shorten the introduction a little bit, but other than that I couldn't find any faults. Keep up the good work :D

His message makes my chest go warm and I smile wide.

Me: "Thank youuuu."

Techno: "No problem."

I close down my computer and turn my fairy lights on instead of my normal light. Then I walk over to my bed, bringing phone-techno with me.

I prop him up against my hard pillow and grab my softest pillow. I move it so the pillow is in between my head and arms.

I hear him make a noise but when I look to my phone he's looking away.

'Do his ears look red?'

'Nah I'm imagining things'

Me: "Techno?"

Techno: "Mhmm?"
He hums back. I love when he does that. It's so soothing.

Me: "Can you tell me more about mythology?"

Techno: "Sure yeah."

He's silent for a couple seconds.

Techno: "I think I have a mythology book around here somewhere. I brought it back from collage because I tell these stories sometimes and people go 'tHatS nOt RiGht tEChnOblADe' and then they'll tell me one of the other sEvEntY TwO versions of the story because it's from 3000 years ago- but anyway-"

I laugh into my pillow.

Me: "Well I know pretty much nothing so you can tell me whatever version you want."

I catch him smiling.

Techno: "There was- you know there's actually an astoundin' amount of parallels between Theseus and Tommyinnit if you think about it-"

Me: "Oh yeah? How so?"

Techno: "Well, they both had like their little cities they wanted to save, alright? They're both the hero's of their own story, there's a lot of sacrifice with both. And lemme tell you somethin'- they both ruled for a bit, they both got kicked out by their own people- and lemme tell you something, Theseus and Tommy, those guys... would not be caught dead respecting women, okay-"

I laugh at that.

Techno: "Like Theseus's whole plot line is 'JuSt DITcHeD a WoMan, fEeLiNg GoOd' alright, you can call them a lot of things but they are definitely not simps, alright."

I'm still laughing.

Techno: "Listen, you laugh but the parallels are astoundin'-"

I hug my pillow as I listen to him ramble on and on. Occasionally, I'll catch my eyes getting heavy and wake myself up but my bed was so warm, and my pillow so soft, and technos voice so soothing.

Eventually I drift off to sleep.
