Chapter 10

Side Effects.

Chapter 10:

"W-what.." I asked in shock.

"He crashed into another car and i guess he spun out of control and flipped over.. His mom called me panicking" He got up. "Hes at the hospital an hour from here... wanna go?" He grabbed a jacket and turned to me.

"Y-yeah." I grabbed my phone and we walked downstairs.

its so weird... This same thing happened in my dream.. or should i say nightmare. I cringed at the thought of the terrible events thats took place.

"What happened Alex? Michelle called me and told me." Im guessing thats Alex's mom. "Oh Ava!!" His mom smiled at me and hugged me. "Youve gotten so big!" I smiled back at her.

"Mom she might not remember you" Alex said and his mom nodded.

"Youre... Sue right?" Alex and his mom looked over at me.

"Yes i am" She laughed. Wow i remember. "Do you guys want me to take you to the hospital?" Sue asked.

"Sure we were just going there now." Alex shrugged and we walkes out to the car.

"Wheres Drew?" Sue asked Alex.

"I dont know. Probably at a friends" Alex shrugged again and i buckled up. I was always scared to ride in cars now even though i told no one that.

We drove down the road and i got a text from Tia.

From: Tiaa

Hey. Did you hear about Austin? :/

To: Tiaa

Yeah. Me and Alex are heading to the hospital now.

I was interupted by Sue.

"I heard about your parents Ava... and i am so sorry." She said looking at me through the mirror. "Were here for you okay?" She gave a reassuring smile and i smiled small back.

"Thank you" I replied and we finally got to the hospital. We got out heading inside. I saw a lady and im guessing its Austins mom.. Michelle..?

Hey i remembered! Im getting so much better at this. Michelle ran up and noticed me first.

"Ava oh my goodness. Hows my little girl doing?" She smiled and hugged me and i hugged back. She greeted everyone and sat back down.

"We cant visit Austin yet?" Alex asked.

"No.. not yet. We can in like 20 minutes but only one at a time. The doctors said hes doing fine." Michelle smiled.

I started to doze off ignoring their conversation.

~FLASHBACK~

Austin and i were sitting at his kitchen table playing Go Fish as we waited for his mom to be done making dinner.

"GO FISH" i yelled and stuck my tongue out as Austin laughed and picked a card from the deck. Michelle walked over to the sink with the pasta in a strainer.

"You guys are so silly!" She smiled and begun shaking the strainer full of noodles. "Ava youre like another child." We all laughed.

"And youre like a second mom!" I smiled back and me and Austin got up to get plates.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

I went back to reality and shook my head.

"Ava wanna go in first?" Alex asked me.

"Uh it doesnt matter" I shrugged. Alex nodded and i stood up. I guess im going... The nurse led me to the room 116 and i entered slowly. Austin really didnt look that bad. He broke his leg and had a minor cut on his forehead that was bandaged but that was about it.

"Hey" He smiled. "I wasnt expecting you at all." I walked to the end of his bed.

"Yeah i wasnt expecting just this" I motioned toward him. He looked in great shape. Austin laughed.

"Im glad you came" He smiled bigger. "I just wanna get out of here.. i have shows to do." He frowned and i shook my head.

"You need rest Austin" I frowned. "Im just glad youre okay" I smiled.

We talked and talked. I learned so much about him just in that little bit of time. Hes very open.. although i am really close to him.. or was. It was Alex's turn now so i walked out letting Alex into the room.

Austins P.O.V:

Wow... Ava is gorgeous. Whenever i heard her name i always thought of the little 14 year old Ava that left me a year and a half ago. But when she woke up... i had left her. and i truly hate myself for doing that to her.. when she needed me most i was gone. I dont blame her being mad. Really. She has every right to be.

I just cant get over her. I cant get over her smile. Her eyes. Her hair. Ive missed it all. Just then Alex came in intterupting my thoughts.

"Hey man" I smiled. Alex and i did our little handshake we made up in 7th grade and laughed.

"How've you been" Alex asked.

"Okay i guess. My leg hurts so much." I shook my head sighing.

"How does it feel to see Ava again?" Alex winked and i laughed.

"Alex shes like a sister to me.." Ive always though of her as a sister.. but deep.. deeeeep down inside i wanted more. i just never knew.

"Austin you know youve liked her ever since you guys were old enough to tell" Alex crossed his arms.

"Shuut up." I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. I do that when im nervous, or thinking, or even angry.

"You liikee her" Alex teased. I laughed and laid back.

"I think shes pretty okay!" I rolled my eyes and looked up.

I knew i liked her. I just cant admit it. I dont want to admit it. We have such a strong bond.. even after not speaking or seeing eachother for longer than a year. Its incredible. I still feel that spark of connection between us. Not like a romantic spark but that kind of spark thats like a.. bestfriend spark.. i guess you could say that..

Oh who am i trying to fool. ive been getting that special spark since I was 11 and she was 10. and i know for a fact its not a stupid "bestfriend spark."

Also.. SORRY for any mistakes. Seriously. I try and update everyday. I literally sit in class and write! But its getting harder and harder to update everyday due to homework and school. Please bare with me thoughhh. Dont give up on this story eitherr! Its only chapter 10 and like my first fanfic... ahhaha.

And i also made up Alex's moms name. So it could be wrong... i think it is. Haha. but yes i know her names not Sue!!
