Chapter 11:
Ava's P.O.V
God... Austin is just perfect. He's honestly perfection. The way he smiles. The way he talks. The way his eyes have that certain sparkle.
What am i saying?
He'll never think of me more than a friend. Were bestfriends remember? Ugh. Well.. i guess i wouldnt wanna ruin anything. Our friendship was already building.. and it was strong once before so it'd be easy to rebuild that strong connection we had.
I left the hospital with Sue and Alex. Sue asked where she should drop me off and i said my house.
You may be wondering why i said my house.. Well theres no way i'd step foot in that house. So ill be walking to a Motel.
They dropped me off and Alex waved through the window as i waved back and acted like i was going inside. When they finally were out of sight i began walking. It was getting dark and i checked the time on my phone 8:15. I gripped my bag strap harder as i walked faster. The wind was rustling the trees and blowing my hair in all direction.
I saw the bright flashy Motel sign and the red blinking open sign. The N on open was burnt out and it just made it look like a scene from a horror film. I walked in the door as the bells chimed through the quiet, small lobby. The lady at the desk eyed me as i walked closer.
"C-can i have a room please?" I asked and she nodded.
"Sure. 5 dollars." She pushed her glassed lower on her nose as she looked at me. Wow. Only five dollars? Sweet.
"Here." I reached into my back pocket and pulled out a five dollar bill of 10 dollars i had total. The lady took it from me and gave me a key to open the door to the room "12"
I walked out and started towards my room. There was about 3 cars parked and i noticed a bar next door. Great.
A clearly drunk guy around the age of 40 turned the corner and spotted me. I panicked and went for a different door next to my room so he doesnt know what room im in.
"Heyy" he slurred and i stopped looking at him in digust.
"Get away" I said backed away from him slowly.
"No im looking for a good time. and your pretty" He got close enough to touch my hair. I smacked his hand away and starred at him scared. He gripped the end of my tank top and i tried pushing him away. He only gripped it tighter. He started to drag me away and i tried screaming only to have him cov er my mouth.
This reminds me so much of when Steve dragged me back home. I was scared to death. We turned the corner and started heading for that bar. I kicked his knee. Adrenaline rushing through me as i ran back to the motel and i slipped the key in and opened the door closing it quickly behind me. Hoping he doesnt find me. I kept the lights off and hid in the corner by the window. I watched the older man walk past then a couple seconds later he turned and walked away back to the bar.
I sighed in relief and got up turning the light on. The bed looks like it hasnt been washed in months. The cream colored walls had a slight brown look to it and it had a faint smell of trash. I shook my head and set my bad down on a table next to the bed. I went and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a complete mess.
I walked to the door locking it and i turned the AC on to make it cooler. I pulled the gross blankets off and laid down on the bed. I felt gross and right when my body touched the bed i felt as if i need a shower. I took my shoes off and set them.on the floor. I dozed off to sleep at about 9:30.
