Chapter 6

Side Effects.

Chapter 6:

I fell asleep that night as memories flooded my mind. It was now Monday. Tia and Alex had school but i wasnt enrolled yet. It was about 10 when i woke up and ate. I am now getting ready to just go out today and shop.

I fixed my curls in my dark black hair and slipped on a red long sleeve shirt and a grey scarf with dark jeans and boots. My makeup looked a bit darker today because i added some eyeliner. I brushed my teeth and went back to my room opening my laptop logging onto twitter. I had one new DM from Austin.

"Good :) Well im still in town today... wanna meet up and hangout?"

Was what it read. I thought about it for a couple seconds. Maybe i should catch up with this kid. He seemed to have a connection with my past.

"Yeah sure. Starbucks? 12. see ya there"

I replied shutting my laptop.

It was about 11:45 and i wasnt sure if Austin will read it soon but oh well. I grabbed my phone walking out of my room up the steps. I havent heard much from Steve. Him and Rita were still asleep on their bed and i rolled my eyes walking out. I walked to the starbucks cafe and sat at a two person table.

"Hey!" I heard someone say and my head shot up revealing Austin.

"Hi" I said very bluntly. He sat down and handed over a Vanilla Bean frap.

"How'd you know?" I asked looking at him and he shrugged.

"Im a pro!" He laughed and i took a sip.

"So whats new?" He asked and i looked down.

"A lot has happened actually." I said sadly and he nodded.

"Yeah i heard about your parents..." He bit hid lip and i shook my head "Well youve changed a lot! You look so much older" He laughed and i nodded smiling back.

"And you! Youre a big popstar" I gestured to him.

"Ive missed you Ava." He said as i rolled my eyes.

"I have. Hey... Can i take you somewhere? Like special?" He asks and i looked at him weirdly.

"Like on a date...?" I asked and his eyes widened.

"No no no! Somewhere we use to go as kids" He smiled and i nodded.

"Sure" He got up grabbing my wrist gently and taking me to his red range rover. We got in and he began driving.

"Where are we going...?" I asked looking around noticing signs of stores and such leaving sight.

"Where we always use to go!" He laughed and pulled over onto a dirt road.

"How did we get back here??" I asked surprised.

"Walked" he shrugged. "We were crazy kids. And we never let anyone come back here with us. It was our own secret spot." I laughed and he parked the car to the side and i slid out of the passenger seat. Austin led us to a path in the woods. We walked and walked and walked. It was pretty far back there.

Until it widened and there was two giant logs to sit on, a tire swing and a swing set. Overhead there were white dangling flowers that almost looked like crystals. It was beautiful. Occasionally there was colored flowers that were so beautiful. I picked a light purple one down and smiled analyzing it.

"Its beautiful right?" Austin asked and i nodded. "We used the tired swing to swing into that lake there" He pointed to a huge lake to the left of us. I walked around still amazed of all the flowers. "And we use to always swing on that swing set." I looked over... that swing set was in my flashback. I sat on a seat and went back and forth a little. Austin joining me.

"This place is so relaxing. Im glad you showed me it." I smiled at Austin.

"Yeah i know. I havent been here in forever. I forgot how peaceful it is." We sat there in silence.. but not awkward silence.. a peaceful silence. We listening to the trees rustling in the wind and i smiled small.

"I say we take a swim in the lake" Austin smiled evily. He got up and picked me up swinging me over his shoulder.

"No Austin! Dont you dare!! Austin!!" I repeatedly hit his back and he just laughed. "Put me down now!!" I yelled and suddenly felt a blanket of coldness. I came up for air and noticed Austin was standing above me ... dry.

"Austin i couldve died!!" I splashed and took my soaked boots off and scarf setting them on the dried grass.

"Noo.. i wouldnt have let that happen" he winked. He turned getting the tire swing pulling it back a little and jumped on it letting go right when it was over the water.

"Wow i havent done that in FOREVER!" he smiled and swam to me.

"Arent there aligators in here?" I asked.

"Yeah..." Austin nodded and i jumped up to get out but he pulled me .. "Im kidding im kidding!!" He laughed.

"You better be. I dont wanna die today!" I laughed and we swam around for a little. Austin taught me how to use the tire swing and i did that a couple of times.

"This feels just like old times"Austin sat down on grass just before the water hit our feet.

I smiled and looked out into the lake. Austin wasnt as bad as Tia descibed him to be, hes actually pretty sweet.
