Life as a Show Dog

Chapter 2

After doing that for a while Hannah got on the computer to find out when the nearest dog show was to try to put me in it. I just clicked buttons on the TV remote till something cool looking turned on. 

"Guess what!" Hannah called to me. "I got you entered into a four level dog show from that healthy, happy dog food brand." She told me joyfully. "The four levels are easy, medium, hard, and extreme." She added on. "Oh my, It's 4 PM already. time for you to run 3 laps in the backyard, eat a small snack, and take a bath. Then I will have you rest till Dinner at 6:30." She quickly said. I walked through the dog door to start the routine while Hannah got everything else ready. As I walked out I saw Cloe sleeping worry-free on a little dog bed. Then I suddenly thought, "Maybe I'm lucky to have something to do all day instead of being bored at home, maybe it's time to enroll Cloe in a few training lessons too."

After we finished the routine I played with Cloe for a few minutes then went to bed. That night I imagined Cloe growing up to be just like me, at first she always bragged and was very proud, she loved being famous, then one day she got hurt and everybody forgot about her and she became a nobody again. I also imagined her finally seeing how little free time she has and she begins to hate the famous life too. The dream turned bad fast and after a while I started dreaming how life would be if I became a nobody, it would be absolutely boring. That night was a crazy night, but when I woke up everything was still the same. I chatted with Cloe for a few minutes as I waited for the alarm clock to start beeping. She actually wanted to go to training lessons and go to work with me and see my everyday life. When the clock finally beeped I had Cloe follow me and I showed her how to turn it off and pull the blankets off Hannah. Then after a minute I taught her how to turn on the coffee pot. After breakfast when Hannah and I usually leave I picked up Cloe and carried her to the car. Hannah started giggling and said, "Ok, She can follow you around today as long as she doesn't get in trouble."

Cloe absolutely loved the car ride and was really excited when we got to the office. Hannah sat us down next to each other and took a picture. 

"This one is going on the wall." She said happily. When Hannah left to take care of new animals I explained her job to Cloe. 

"Wow, she must be really good at it." She said. Kyla came in to do her job and I explained everyone's job that I work with to Cloe. Cloe loved Kyla and Kyla loved her. 

"Wow, I don't get how you don't like this place, but I will admit, when no one is in here taking care of you it looks like it would be pretty boring." She said. 

"It is." I simply her.

Cloe loved the dog spa. 

"I've never felt so good in my life!" She yapped loudly. Then came the actual work. When we got there she was amazed that I had my own office. Then Carl came in to take care of us and the lady nodded us on. When Cloe saw all the sets and animals working she started jumping with joy. It was a very exciting day for her. When Carla came over she led us to a TV, she had to carry Cloe cause she wouldn't stay still, on the TV was a paused commercial. 

"Its yours." She told us. After a click of the remote we saw me running down the stairs to the food and at the end the three dogs running across the screen. 

"I want to be just like you!" She yapped happily. Then while I helped other dogs do there scenes Carla tried to train Cloe to sit and stay plus come. When I saw Carla struggling to calm Cloe down I went over there to help.

"Sit!"She commanded."Like this." I showed Cloe what to do. 

"Yay, finally!"Carla said as she handed us treats. With my help we taught Cloe how to sit, stay, come, yap, and beg. All in a few hours! Next we went to get cooled off and get snacks, after that we rested in my office till Hannah came and picked us up.

That night Cloe slept well and I decided that having her as a partner would be much more fun then being solo. She even did the afternoon routine with me! Maybe she could even join the dog show with me! The show is in two weeks so I would have to train her fast and well to get her ready. The next day was Friday, Saturday is always our fun-day where Hannah and I go to parks and we have lots of fun at home together and now Cloe might join us too! When we got to Hannah's work I explained to Cloe that on Fridays I don't have to go to my job and that means we don't go to the spa either. She was a little disappointed, but then I told her about the dog play room and how much fun playing in the cat room was and then she cheered up. After Kyla came in we headed to the cat room and played around in there. Before the people could come get us out we ran to the dog play room where Cloe became best friends with the black Lab puppy while I played with other dogs. After a while we got snacks and went back to the office to rest.

When we got back home Hannah worked on my tricks then had me do the routine while she worked on training Cloe. After Cloe did the routine we ate dinner then chatted about our past two days together at work and about what we want to do in the future. I also told her about super Saturdays. Then, after a while, we fell asleep.
