"Hide over here." I ordered everyone, Cloe, come with me." The dogs gathered where I pointed to with my muzzle and Cloe walked up to me. I walked up to the front porch, Cloe Whispered next to me, "This is it, we're home." I took a moment to breathe then used my paw to scratch at the door. After a moment the window curtain moved a little then stopped. The door opened and Hannah called our names. She bent down and hugged us both and petted us. I heard a small sound and looked behind me to see Sam tumbling into Hannah's view.
"Your adorable!" Hannah whispered. Sawyer and Shep came tumbling into view too. Shaylee barked something, I couldn't tell what though. Shaylee ran out of where the dogs were hiding and stood her puppies up. Hannah looked at her with a hint of knowledge in her eyes. Cocoa stepped out, his posture showed how anxious he was to see Hannah.
"Are you the father?" Hannah asked him. I nodded my head to Scout, who was peering onto the porch. Scout stepped out from his spot and Hannah asked, "How many of you are there?"
"You must be the father." She added to Scout, "These puppies look part Golden Retriever and part German Shepherd." Hannah stepped back as Harvey and Brutis cautiously walked into her view.
"Are you guys Cloe and Jake's friends?" Hannah asked the new group of dogs. "Are you nice dogs?" Shaylee's puppies suddenly ran up to Hannah and started playing with the slippers she was wearing. "Silly puppies." Hannah giggled. "Come inside, all of you." She laughed. She opened the door to let us all inside and I nodded my head to the other dogs to tell them it was okay. Hannah stepped inside then said, "Come on, inside." I launched myself up and Hannah caught me in her arms. Hannah laughed. Cloe ran up to Hannah and started barking "Hi!" frantically. "Hi Cloe." Hannah laughed. The three puppies came bounding inside and Shaylee ran after them. Cocoa walked in a moment after. Scout cautiously followed then ran over to Shaylee. Harvey hesitated then held his head low in submission as he walked in. Brutis walked up to the door and stuck his head into the living room. He glanced at the inside of the house for a moment, then walked in. "Thats all of you." Hannah declared. She walked over to the door and attempted to quietly shut it, I was still in her arms though, making it hard. "You all look so skinny. I'll go get some food and water. Hannah said to us with concern in her voice.
Hannah set me down then patted Cloe. She walked away into the kitchen then returned a few heartbeats later with many bowls of dog food and water. The other dogs looked like they where asking hundreds of questions in there head and Cloe and I just sat with our tongues out. "I'm so glad your home." Hannah told us.
"I need to give your friends some names." She said as she turned to look at me. "I always have supplies for work, even at home" She quickly walked down the hallway and returned a moment later with a bag full of collars. She held a sharpie in her other hand. She opened the bag and pulled out all the colors then opened the sharpie. "But what to call you." She mumbled to herself.
She walked up to Sam, who had finished eating first. "I'll call you Zack." She scribbled something onto an orange collar then slipped it over his neck and smiled.
She walked over to Scout, he was watching her with narrowed eyes to make sure nothing bad happened to his sons. "I'll call you James." She picked up an brown collar and scribbled his new name on it. Then she slid is onto his neck. Scout shook his head for a moment, then stopped to inspect his new accessories.
Next Hannah walked to Shaylee. She wrote something down on a blue collar and put it on her. "Your name is Gianna." Shaylee looked at her collar then back at Hannah, Shaylee blinked thank you to her. Hannah smiled then went on.
She headed for Sawyer and put a yellow collar with his new name on him. "You're Austin." Sawyer pawed at the collar then gave up and tackled Sam.
Hannah wrote something on a green collar then slipped it on Shep. "Hello Lucas."
"Now for you." She said as she approached Cocoa. She put a red collar on him with sharpied letters on it. "Your name is Cooper."
"Hello there." She said quietly as she walked up to Brutis. He gave her a look and got a little tense when she stuck a black collar on him. "Your new name is Ender."
"And last but not least, you." She said as Harvey gave her an anxious look. "She scribbled some words onto a dark teel colored collar. "You get to be Jay."
Everyone was either admiring there new collars or playing with it. Brutis tried to bite his off but soon gave up.
"You two need collars too. That way you don't get lost again." Hannah said as she turned to me and Cloe. She bent over and slid a red collar with my name on it onto my neck. She gave Cloe a blue one.
"Now that you all have collars and our fed, lets get to sleep." Hannah decided. She grabbed some extra blankets and made beds on the furniture and the floor. Cloe and I jumped into Hannah's bed. Hannah lead the rest of the dogs to their sleeping places then came to bed with us. "Home at last!" I thought to myself. "I can't believe it! We made it home to Hannah and she excepted the other dogs! It's a dream come true!
