As everyone walked to the door and started coming in, I just stood there and looked. I was already hurt and confused about what I was dealing with. I didn't want to loose my husband. I loved Erik. And I didn't want him to find out like this. My intention was to tell him. I was not planning on dragging like this. But every time I wanted to tell him I just couldn't do it. All I kept thinking about was him leaving me. Now here it is my wedding day and we are in the pastor study arguing about what was suppose to be the happiest day of my life.
As both sets of parents and Ramsey stood at the door we all just stood there. The pastor stood up and walked over to the door.
"Listen I asked y'all to stay in the sanctuary. This is not between the couple and all of you. It's only between them. Now they my have gotten a objection but they are still married. It's up to them to not be or to be." He explained to them.
"They ain't married. We stopped that shit. And you need to be ashamed of yourself. This is not a woman. This is a man. And you standing here defending this. What about the Bible. Ain't that some kind of sin?" Ramsey said.
"Sir I'm gonna have to ask you to leave. You have caused enough damage." The pastor said getting upset.
"I ain't going nowhere. Not until I know for sure this...this...thing gets what is deserving to it." Ramsey snapped back.
"Thing? I got your thing." Amiyah said running towards Ramsey.
Erik put his hand up between her and Ramsey.
"Back up. You have done enough. I got this." Erik said to Amiyah.
Erik turns and look at the parents and Ramsey. He grabbed the bridge of his nose and let out a deep sigh.
"Listen. I'm not gonna say this but one time. And I mean one time. Please leave and go back in the sanctuary. This has nothing to do with none of you. It's my decision and I'm gonna make it without y'all. Now please leave like pastor said." Erik said to all of them.
Erik mom and dad looked at him confused. They couldn't believe he was actually talking to them like that. Out of all people they thought he would allow them to have a stay and a word about that was just exposed. Amanda and Alex walked to their son and pulled at him.
"Are you kidding me right now? We are your parents. And this is not some little situation. I knew it was something about this girl. Well hell she is not a girl at all for what we just heard." Alex said to his son furious.
"Dad now is not the time for your mess. Please leave. I can handle this by myself. And for the record I am grown and can handle this." Erik said back to his father.
"You have got to be joking Erik. Your father and I only want the best for you. You can't see that?" Amanda said with tears coming down her face.
"Ma don't do this. Please. Now I'm asking nicely. Can you please go wait in the church?" Erik said.
"Fine. Just fine." Amanda said walking away from the door.
Alex looked at his son for another second and shook his head and walked off behind his wife. Ramsey was still standing there like he didn't hear nothing no one said.
"That means you too man. Leave now!" Erik said.
"And if I don't?" Ramsey said.
"You will find out the wrong way. Now leave." Erik said demanding his respect from Ramsey.
Ramsey laughed and walked away. Erik closed the door and looked back at the pastor and Amiyah. He walked to the chair and sat down. He put his hands over his face and took a deep breath. Amiyah came and sat next to him and waited on the Pastor to come back and sit down. As they did all of that the pastor started back at his work.
"Now that that's settled are you sure you want to go on with this?" The pastor asked them.
"Yes. Go on with this. Cause I want to know why the hell I dated my so called wife so over a year, slept with her, proposed to her, married her for me to find out on my wedding day that she was a trans woman." Erik said not taking his eyes off of Amiyah as he stated all of these things.
Amiyah didn't know what to say at this point. All she could do was sit there with her head hanging and crying her eyes out. She felt that her entire world was falling apart. And if she said anything Erik was gonna leave her. If he hasn't already made his mind up to leaver her.
"Well Amiyah. You have heard the questions. What are your answers to them?" The pastor asked her looking at her.
The room fell silent for a long time. Amiyah still was crying and looking down. She not once looked at Erik. Erik was still facing her waiting for her response. But all she was able to do was sit there and cry. Erik pulled her chair to him and made her face him. He lifts her head and got into her face. Amiyah heart started beating triple times now. She knew he was about end it all at this point.
"Miyah I'm not gonna ask you again. Answer my questions now. I deserve this. You have betrayed me with trust and being honest. I trusted you. I loved you for you. How can you not tell me this? I asked you several times and you still didn't say nothing.
"Talk to me!" Erik yelled as he pushed the chair arm of her chair.
Amiyah jumped when he did that.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to loose you. That's why I didn't say nothing." Amiyah said through her tears as her voice cracked.
Erik leaned back in the chair and huffed. He ran his hand down his face and chuckled.
"So you think I'm gonna stay now? After all of this? I mean what you thought I was playing when I said I'm all about honesty? So what should I do with you?" Erik asked her not cutting any corners.
Amiyah cried and cried she reached for his hand to grab and he snatched it away.
"I love you. I don't want you to leave me." She said as she started hyperventilating.
Before you knew Amiyah passed out. She hit the floor.
"Omg call 911." The pastor said running to her.
Erik got down next to her and called the 911.
