The morning sun woke me out my sleep. As I stretched and looked around I remembered where I was. I looked over at the bed and saw Amiyah laying there fast asleep. She laid there looking so beautiful. I didn't know rather I was coming or going though. All the lies and deception that has happened over these days has really took me through it. Here I am a married man married to a transgender woman. And why she didn't feel the need to tell me this before now I don't know. I know she says she didn't want to get into it and I leave her.
But at this point now look at what she has caused. My family practically hates her. My brother and my father being the head. Speaking of which they want me to get this marriage annulled and let her go on bout her way. My mother is upset to the fullest but is letting me make my own decision. Me on the other hand don't know if I should go or stay. I mean the damage is already done. We've been together for over a year. And now we are married. I mean I do love her too.
This shit is crazy as hell. But what about my manhood? My reputation? My job? My name? If someone finds out that I am actually with a transgender what would they say about me? Will that make me gay? I don't know what the hell to do about this. This got me going crazy here. I need some air. Erik got up and walked out the room. He walked down the hall and went outside. He spotted a bench. He went and sat down. As he sat there he played all his thoughts in his head.
As the birds and the wind chirps and blow he was threw out his thoughts with his cell phone ringing. Erik pulled out the phone and looked at the caller ID. He rolled his eyes as he looked and answered it.
"Yeah?" Erik said so dry.
"Bro I'm at your house. Where are you?" Aaron asked him.
"I'm sitting outside." Erik said.
"Outside where. Let me get out and come to you now." Aaron said opening his car door about to get out.
"No. Stay in the car. I'm not home. I'm at the hospital." Erik said quickly.
"Hospital? Are you serious right now? You still following up around that man?" Aaron said pissed raising his voice.
"That's not a man nor your business. I got to go." Erik said hanging up in his face.
This is the type of behavior he was worried about. And this is just his brother. Imagine the public. Do you really want to go through this? He thought to himself. Before he could think on it his cell rings again. Erik had his phone turned off all night so he knew it would be ringing off the hook today. He looked at the caller ID again and shook his head once again. This time it was his father.
"Dad what a surprise." Erik said sarcastic to his father.
"Don't take that tone with me. I know you have left that hospital right?" Alex asked Erik.
"No I haven't. This is my wife. I have to be here with her." Erik said to his dad.
"Wife? Wife? Are you kidding me? That is a man that has tricked you into being with him and leading you on to believe that he is a she. Cut the bullshit son. Me and your mother have talked about this. Get it annulled." Alex said.
"Dad I have talked to mom and she said whatever decision I make and will support me. Can't you just let me take care of this my way. After all it is my life." Erik said to his dad holding his ground.
"Your decision? This hurts all of us not just you. It's my reputation too. Do you understand what the firm will say? You are clearly not thinking. Get yourself together and get that mess annulled." Alex said sternly.
"Dad no disrespect but I need time alone to think this through and I don't need you or no one else telling me how I should run my life with my wife. I love you but I got to go." Erik said as he hung the phone up.
Erik stood and took a deep breath. He walked back to the hospital door and walked back to Amiyahs room. Before he walked in he spotted the doctor. He wanted to talk to him without Amiyah hearing. As he walked over the doctor smiled.
"Hello. Good morning Mr. Jones. How are you this morning?" He asked Erik.
"I'm holding. Listen doc I wanted to talk to you about my wife condition. Is she gonna be ok? And when will she be able to go home?" Erik asked concerned.
"Well Mrs. Jones condition is going a lot better. She will recover just fine. I'm looking to see how she progress today and maybe send her home in the morning. But with special care. No stress." The doctor said to Erik.
Erik shook his head in agreement as they talked. After they was done the doctor checked her vitals and left them in the room alone. Amiyah had awaken and was looking for her husband. The doctor left them to their privacy.
"How you feeling?" Erik asked her.
"Better that you are still here. I thought you was gone." Amiyah said.
"No. I went to get some fresh air and answered a few calls. Don't worry I'm not leaving." Erik said with a half smile on his face.
"Can we talk about our situation?" Amiyah asked looking Erik in his eyes.
"No we can't. We need to get you better and out of here. That can wait." Erik said.
"I'm a big girl. I can handle this. Just tell me. You leaving me ain't you?" Amiyah said getting sad.
"Amiyah I'm not going anywhere as of now. Please don't do this right now. We just need to get you better. And that is what I'm here to make sure of ok." Erik said.
"Ok. Fine. But I love you baby." Amiyah said grabbing his hand.
"I love you too." Erik said to her.
