Pidge ran as long as she could, which was a good amount thanks to Track. She soon realized that she actually had no idea where she was going and only could return to the spot she had departed from Takashi earlier -- the bus stop. There was an elderly couple waiting for the next run, but that was it.

Pidge peered back at the phone screen once more, seeing that she had overlooked a message from both Hank and her mom. With a quaking hand, the girl pulled up the message from her mother, timestamped for being sent nearly an hour ago.

'Avoid going home for a bit,' it read. A sob erupted from Pidge's lips, the girl whishing she had seen the text when she was trading phone numbers with Takashi. The elderly couple glanced at the brunette with concern, but said nothing.

Switching to her chat history with Hank, Pidge found that he had sent her a link to a news story and asked her what was going on. No doubt it was the park CCTV. The young Gunderson tried her hardest to type out a reply, but her shaking hands made it nearly impossible. After a couple of failed attempts, she managed to shoot Hank a response and turned to the contact she needed to talk to the most. The only other person who would understand and give her a solution to this chaotic mess.

Tears fell faster down her face as she moved away from the bus stop to get some privacy. She hid herself behind some vegetation, observing her surroundings to make sure no one was close enough to be in hearing range. With a deep breath, she hit call on Takashi's contact.

He answered nearly immediately, calm and preppy, "Gunderson? Couldn't wait to talk to me again?"

The shorter teen almost snorted in amusement, but only left the other hanging with silence. After another breath, Pidge managed to whisper, "Where are you?" Her voice was wavering, but she could feel the shock and fear slowly leaving her body after hearing him speak. She got away from the white coats, but for now she was not safe. If her mother was weary of them, then so was she.

On the other side of the phone, Takashi dropped something that shattered. The noise was loud and crisp. "Are... are you crying? Did something happen?" he stammered, seemingly flustered by the situation.

Studying her surroundings once more, Pidge started to speed walk further down the path in fear of that group catching up with her. Hiding in the forest behind bus stop was the only solution she could come up with.

As she furthered into the woods, she spoke again to Takashi, "I just need you to find me... please. I just..." Pidge ceased mid-sentence as a hand grabbed her shoulder from behind. Panicked, she threw whoever it was off and put a significant amount of space in between them.

Lane stared at her with wide eyes. "Woah, I'm not going to harm you, Pigeon," he assured, raising his hands up in innocence, but seeing her reddened eyes and tears changed the Latino's expression, "Holy Voltron, Pidge what happened to you?"

His question only made her cry more profusely. Shakily, she handed Lane her phone, "Tell him... where we are," she wheezed out, her now free hands wrapping around herself. The world was spinning, and she was doing everything she could to keep the magic down. To keep both Lane and herself safe from her uncontrolled abilities.

Yet the sparks were appearing anyway. She turned away, to keep the sight out of Lane's range of vision. Both boys continued discussing their current location and trying to figure out if each other knew anything as Pidge furthered into the youthful trees.

Unexpectedly, something scratched at her feet and it grew taller. Looking down, she found vines crawling up her legs, climbing higher and higher with each second. Pidge tried to focus on blocking everything out, trying to quell her rampant magic, but the fear was there, squeezing at her core.

"Pidge... what's going on with that vine?" Lane inquired pointedly from behind her.

Slowly, the small teen turned around, showing Lane her sparking hands that hummed a bright green as more vines began to sprout up from the ground. Shock washed the taller's face pale as his mouth fell open.

Pidge tried to take a step back to give birth for more distance between them, but the vine had her left leg snagged. "Please don't be afraid, Lane," she begged under her breath, "I need Takashi." For a moment she had almost called him Shiro. It was nearly as if her voice was merging with Katie's, someone who had been living in her gut for a long time.

Lane hesitantly nodded, placing Pidge's phone on the ground and sliding it back to her. "I will just stay right here as you... get situated?" the tanned male offered, unsure of himself and his words.

The two stood in silence, neither truly feeling the urge to say something in the moment. Pidge focused on calming herself down while Lane kept a steady eye out for Takashi. When he spotted the Holt marching across the pavement, pupils scanning the edge of the forest with intensity, Lane finally spoke up, "He's here," and then waved Takashi in.

Upon seeing Pidge's unfortunate state, Takashi hissed. Vines, tall blades of grass, and weeds had grown around her small silhouette, devouring the space by her side. Vegetation encircled her arms and legs, holding her to the spot she stood.

Takashi immediately started tugging at the growth, not enough plants coming free at his strength. Standing back up from where he was kneeled and yanking at a vine, he met Pidge's eyes. "I need you to free yourself. Breathe and imagine them coming undone, returning to the ground," he told, placing a comforting hand on her crossed arms, "I'm here for you."

Peering up into Takashi's dark eyes did bring Pidge some of the peace she needed and with his lead, the two took deep breaths to calm her all the way down. Sure enough, the vines and weeds winding down, letting go of her appendages and setting her free.

The moment Pidge had full motor mobility, she threw herself at Takashi to engulf him in a hug. "The world knows about me. There was a CCTV in the park," she cried softly, burying herself in the football captain's jacket. Takashi only held her tighter. Lane awkwardly joined in.

I had to fix some errors on the last chapter twice ;;
