Wishes

A special moment

After spending sometime with the entire cast myself and Ashley were taken to set to watch some of the filming. It looked incredible, Ashley was so glued to screen, she was mesmerised.
She spoke with joe and Anthony a lot and was just loving every minute.
I was off to the side when my phone rang, I asked them if it was ok to answer and they said yes
"Hello"
"Lauren? Where is your sister?"
"We are with make a wish mum you know that"
"No I didn't"
"Yes you did. Please mum. She is enjoying her day just leave it"
"Don't tell me what to do. She is my daughter"
"Really? Because you haven't been the one taking care of her. I have"
"Don't take that tone with me Lauren"
I felt myself breaking, tears were rolling. I walked off to where no one could see me.
"Mum, just take your pills and go back to sleep okay. We will be home soon"
"Fine"
I hung up and allowed myself to cry. My mum was just a nightmare. She never remembered anything. As I was straightening myself out, I heard someone clear there throat behind me, I turned around and it was Chris, he had Ashley with him.
"Lauren what's wrong?"
"Nothing bubbles, everything is fine"
"That was mum wasnt it"
"Hey, don't worry. Your here to have fun. So go have fun"
She wheeled herself back to the set and I walked with Chris.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, just family drama. Don't worry about it"
"Okay, as long as your sure"
I just nodded.
We were waiting for a stunt to be set up and Ashley was talking to Sebastian Stan. She loved the winter solider and Sebastian.
"Seb this is my sister Lauren"
"Hi Lauren nice to meet you"
"You too" I shook his hand. He was a handsome man.
"Lauren is single Sebastian. Are you?"
"Ashley! Stop! I'm so sorry. She seems to have gotten it in her head she has to tell everyone that"
"Don't worry about it. Unfortunately I'm not single currently."
"Oh okay."
I smiled at him and mouthed I'm sorry again. He shook his head and carried on talking with Ashley.
What was she thinking?

We had been on the set pretty much all day and I was getting so tired. Ashley was as well I could tell.
"Ashley it's time to go sweetie"
"No please"
"Look I've gotta get you back for your meds and everything. I'm sorry honey"
"Hey, why don't you meet up with us tomorrow?" Chris shouted over
"That wasn't part of the make the wish"
"No I know, but you guys are great. We don't mind hanging out with you some more. We were planning on doing a bit of sight seeing tomorrow. Come with us"
"Please buttercup"
"Buttercup?" Chris questioned
"Yeah, erm power puff girls. She is bubbles" I laugh.
"Okay, so what do you say?"
I look at Ashley and she is pleading with me to say yes.
"Okay"
Ashley screams out "yay!!!! Thank you!!! Your my by far my favourite sister"
"I'm your only sister"
Chris laughs at us "ok well how about I pick you up at the hotel tomorrow?"
"We can just meet you it's not a problem"
"Honestly I don't mind picking you up"
"Okay"
"Great. I'll see you tomorrow"
"See you tomorrow"

We got back to the hotel and Ashley was practically bouncing of the walls. I did all her medication, washed her down in the bath and got her settled for bed.
She was my world, everything I did, revolved around her and I didn't really know what I would when she was gone.

I stepped outside the room, just for a few minutes to gather my thoughts and to take a breath.
I love my sister and I will do anything for her, but it does mean my life has kind of turned into my job. I'm a doctor 24 hours a day 7 days a week. No rest bite.
My sister needs me so of course I'm there but sometimes it takes it's tole and I'm exhausted.
I don't really sleep well, I'm always listening just in case something happens.
I try to not show it to Ashley, I never want her to feel bad for anything.
I'd give my life for her if I could.
