New home

It's been a week since Ashley was in hospital, she was discharged after 2 days and we moved into the house Downey had rented. I couldn't believe I was living with the avengers.
Ashley was ok, she wasn't any better but she wasn't any worse. She had a room on the ground floor and we had a nurse come in twice a day to check her over.
She would have moments when she was her usual cheeky self but then most moment were made up of her sleeping or heavily medicated.
Today thankfully was a good day, she woke up with energy and smiles.
"Lauren you need to get out. Your always stuck in doors with me. Go have some fun"
"I'm not leaving you Ashley, you need me"
"I will be fine. I have my nurse and I'm also surrounded my superhero's. They all have the day off so please go"
"Go where? I'm not from around here I don't know where to go"
"Chris will take you"
I look over and Chris is stood at the door "ash you can't just assume someone can take me out"
"I'm not assuming am I Chris?"
He laughs "no she isn't. I was going to ask if you would like a tour"
"Really? So this was all planned?"
"Kinda"
I just shake my head and Ashley has a huge smile on her face.
"Please buttercup go!"
"Fine, I'll go get changed"
"There is a new outfit on your bed. Scarlett got it for you"
"What? How did you know I would say yes?"
"I'm your sister I know these things"
I walk off to the room I was given and find a beautiful black maxi dress on the bed. It's a halter neck and has a beautiful flower design on one side.
I finished getting ready, I paired the dress with some wedges, my hair was down and curly and I chose minimal make up. As I walked back into Ashley rooms all eyes were on me.
"Wow! Sis you look so pretty"
"Thank you"
"Wowzza! Lauren you look good enough to eat" Anthony said making me laugh.
"Seriously you look beautiful" Sebastian added.
"Thank you. All of you"
As I turned around I saw Chris, he was looking at me, mouth open "you okay Chris?"
"Yeah......you......look......I......mean......."
Ashley chimed in "I think the word your looking for is incredible"
"Yeah that's it. You look incredible"
"Thank you very much.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Bubbles are you sure?"
"We got her. She is safe with us I promise" mackie says as he is ushering me out of the room.
I reluctantly leave her and head out with Chris. He offers to drive and we have a nice chat in the car. He really is a sweet guy.
"Where are we going anyway?"
"Well I thought it would be nice to go and see some of my favourite places here"
"Okay. Lead the way Evans"
He smiled at me and carried on driving. We went everywhere, there are places here I didn't even know exsisted.
We decide on a picnic for lunch, he goes to a sandwich shop and grabs us a few bits. We find a nice secluded area of grass and sit down. Luckily he had a blanket in the back of his car.
"Thank you for today Chris"
"No worries"
"I don't really get to do this much"
"No I can imagine"
"You guys have been amazing through all of this."
"Downey was right when he said you and your sister are like family now"
I smiled at him "I think I'm going to have bring my mum here. I don't think ash is going to be strong enough to travel all the way home"
"Would she come here?"
"I don't know. But I have to try"
"When we get back, talk to Downey he should be able to help"
"Ok. I will do."
"Lauren? How have you done this for 4 years?"
I laugh "I've had too. I didn't have much of a choice. My dad left, my mum went into denial so I was the only one left to take care of her. It sucks sometimes because I became a doctor to help people. To save people and yet I can't even save my own sister."
"You've done everything you can for her"
"Yeah but it's not enough"
He places his hand on mine. "There is nothing more you can do"
I lift my head and gaze into his perfect eyes.
"Thank you. You've been my rock this past 2 weeks"
"Of course. I'm always here if you need me"
Once we finished with lunch, we headed to the shops, I wanted to pick up some bits for Ashley and myself and I wanted to cook dinner for everyone tonight. My way of saying thank you. Once we had everything we headed home.
When I walked in Mackie looked worried "mackie what's going on?"
"The nurse is in with Ashley, she has been in there a while"
"Ok"
"Ashley's breathing went a bit crazy"
"Why didn't you call me?"
"Ashley made us promise not too"
I sighed and headed on into the room. Ashley was struggling to breathe.
"You are so damn stubborn. What's going on Shelia?"
"Her lungs don't sound good. I'm going to ring a doctor to come out and check her out okay"
"Okay. I'll be right back ash"
I walk back out into the kitchen "Chris can you go sit with her please?"
"Of course"

Ashley POV

I can feel my body getting weaker, I know I'm going to die soon. But I needed to get my mum here first.
Chris walked through the door and sat by me, I grabbed his hand and he squeezed.
"Do you like my sister?" I asked him breathlessly
"Lauren is great"
"No Chris do you like her like her?"
He went a bit red but smiled "yes I do"
"Then do something about it Chris. She is going to need someone to be there for her when I'm gone."
"Don't talk like that Ashley"
"No Chris, I can feel it. It won't be long. I need you to ask Downey to get my mother and my friends here to say goodbye. Please"
He nodded and kissed the back of my hand "and Chris? Please don't hurt her. She doesn't open up to many people, but she has too you. So take care of her okay"
"I will I promise"

I felt myself slowly sliding back into a peaceful sleep. This is coming to an end. And I'm okay with that.
