Demi's POV

He was back in fifteen minutes just like he said and we all headed to his rental car since my security drove my dad and I here. We got in his car and then he headed off to some restaurant. My dad and him talked the entire way about football and life and I was surprised at how well they got along. It made me happy that my dad liked him also because he was always the hardest to impress when I brought someone around. It took him almost two years to finally accept Wilmer and even then I could tell he wasn't that big of a fan, but he never said anything. When we made it to the restaurant, we got seated at a booth in the back and Odell and I sat next to each other while my dad sat across from us. After we ordered our food, I sat back and watched with a proud smile at how well Odell was able to have a conversation with my dad. My phone going off drifted me out of my thoughts and I grabbed it out of my purse to see I had an email and my breath got caught in my throat when I read who it was from.

From Los Angeles Paternity Laboratory

Luckily my dad had excused himself to use the restroom only a few minutes later and I looked over at Odell with a wide look.

"What's wrong?" He asks concerned and I take a deep breath as I hold up my phone so he can see the notification. "Well open it." He urges and I sigh.

"We're at dinner with my dad. Now isn't the time." I say quietly.

"The second we're alone, we're opening it." He says and I nod.

"My dad seems to like you." I then say changing the subject and he smiles.

"Yeah? That's good." He says leaning back against the seat and I nod.

"Mmhmm. When do you head back to New York?" I ask him.

"Tomorrow morning we all head out. Let's go do something after this dinner though." He says and I furrow my brows.

"Do what?" I ask and he chuckles.

"I don't know, I'll figure it out. But we are doing something." He replies and I smile and nod. My dad then came back just as the food arrived so we all ate and finished up the dinner. We drove my dad back to my parents house and then he drove off towards some mystery place.

"So where are we going?" I ask him as I turn down the music a little.

"Bowling." He answers and I smile and nod getting excited. I almost forgot about that email from the lab, but when we pulled into the parking lot of a bowling alley Odell shut the car off and then looked over at me. "Open the email." He says and I take a deep breath.

"Maybe we should just do it later." I say quietly.

"No, I'm not waiting anymore. You were the one that wanted to know and now we can. Let's just read the email." He says placing a hand on my thigh. "I promise you right now that whatever that email says that I will always be here. I will be here and raise this baby with you as long as you let me." He then says since he could probably see how unsure I looked.

"I would never ask you to do that." I whisper and he smiles as he squeezes my thigh lightly.

"Open the email." He replies back and I sigh heavily as I grab my phone and pull up my emails. I take one last deep breath before opening the email. I skimmed over the first half of it because it was nothing but medical terms that I had no idea what they meant. When I got to Odell's name, I stopped the skimming and read it out loud to Odell.
