Demi's POV

It's been several more hours now and it's late in the afternoon now and I am exhausted and I'm so much pain.

"Whoever said labor was beautiful and blissful is a fucking liar." I groan out as I grip bed rails in my hand tightly when a terrible contraction passes.

"I wish you would just take the epidural." Odell says as he rubs my back for me.

"I don't want it. Stop trying to convince me otherwise." I snap slightly because that's all he's said for the last few hours. Get an epidural so you're not in pain.

"I just don't like seeing you in pain. That's all." He replies quietly and I roll my eyes.

"I'll be fine." I mumble back as I roll to my other side to face him and I see how exhausted he looks. "You can sleep." I say and he shakes his head.

"I'll sleep when you sleep." He says back and I smile lightly.

"We can't both be tired." I say and he shrugs. Just then the doctor walks in and I sit up with Odell's help because I know she's going to be checking me again.

"You're at an eight Demi. That's fantastic." She says after checking me and I sigh.

"But not enough to push." I mumble resting my head back.

"No, but you're almost there. I'm going to have nurses start bringing everything in here to prepare and in a couple hours you should be having a baby." She replies but I don't bother responding. I'm just want my baby with me already. She soon left the room, but nurses quickly started setting everything up for the doctor and the baby when it was time to push. They even brought me a yoga ball so that I could sit and bounce on since it would relieve some pressure and pain and it actually helped a lot. The contractions still felt like my body was splitting in half, but at least it was relieved in the slightest way.

"So, I got you something." Odell says while rubbing my back as I sit on the yoga ball and lay my head in my arms on the bed.

"Got me what? A baby that I have to push out of my vagina?" I ask in a grumble and he chuckles.

"Well that too." He replies as he stops rubbing my back and I take a deep breath as I look up and over to see him getting something out of one of the bags. Once he had it, he walked back over to me and handed me the small gift bag and I furrow my brows.

"It's your push present or whatever people call it. My mom told me and she went with me to pick you something out. It's my thank you for all you're going through right now and all the pain to bring our son into the world." He explains and I smile lightly. "I'm technically supposed to give it to you after, but I couldn't wait." He then adds in and I chuckle.

"You didn't need to get me anything." I say and he smiles.

"I wanted to. Anyways, open it." He replies nodding down to the bag and I smile as I pull the tissue paper out and then the small velvet box. I slowly opened that up and was met with a gorgeous diamond bracelet and I dropped my mouth open in shock.
