I Can't Even Concentrate

Demi's POV

"Are you nervous?" I ask Odell walking in the kitchen as we wait for my family to arrive. Todays the day Odell is meeting my family and I'm really nervous.

"Nah." He answers shaking his head.

"Really? I am." I reply as I lean against the counter and he turns around to face me.

"Why?" He asks chuckling as he walks up to me.

"Because." I reply back and he raises his brows. "I've only really introduced one serious person to them and I don't know. It's just nerve wracking I guess." I finally answer shrugging and he smiles.

"You know you're the only serious person I've introduced to my mom." He says and I raise my brows quickly in shock.

"Seriously?" I ask and he nods.

"Yeah. Never felt the need to do it before." He answers and I smile.

"That's cute." I state and he rolls his eyes causing me to laugh. "I just hope today goes well. I don't want any tension at the baby shower if it doesn't." I then say and he nods. We're actually having a baby shower tomorrow and I thought that it would be better to do the meeting before then in case it didn't go well.

"Everything will be fine. Your dad already likes me so I'm sure they all will too." He says and I nod. I hope he's right. I know Maddie and Dallas won't have a problem with him, it really is just my mom that I'm worried about. About twenty minutes later there was a knock and I took a deep breath as I walked to the door with the dogs all following closely behind. Odell's other two dogs have also come back from his dads place so we have five dogs now. Don't ask me how were dealing with that because I have no idea. When I open the front door I see my sisters and parents all standing there and I smile as I hug them all and let them in.

"Oh my god. These dogs are huge." Dallas says as they all start sniffing them and I chuckle and nod.

"I know right. This is Khan, Blackjack, Mowgli, and Eris." I introduce them each to them. "They're super nice. Khan and Eris have become my new protectors. It's really cute actually." I then say laughing as Khan stands right by my side looking up at me every few seconds like he's checking on me.

"Does Batman do okay with them?" Maddie asks laughing and I nod smiling.

"Yeah, he does actually. He thinks he's as big as them anyways so it doesn't really bother him." I answer as I start walking them through the living room and back towards the kitchen where Odell is at.

"Do you plan on having the dogs stay somewhere else when the baby gets here?" My mom asks and I shake my head.

"No. They're all really good dogs. Two of them were at Odell's dads place where his baby brother is at and there were no issues." I reply just as we make it to the kitchen and Odell turns to face us and I smile. "Guys this is my boyfriend and Odell this is my mom, Dallas and Maddie. You already met my dad." I introduce and he walks up to us.

"It's great to meet you finally." Dallas says giving him a hug and I felt myself start to relax. My mom even gave him a warm smile and hug. Odell finished up the last of dinner just a few minutes later and then we all got our food and sat down around the table.

"I can't believe you're about to have a baby." My mom says about halfway into dinner and I smile and nod.

"I know. It's crazy to think about that only in a couple weeks were gonna have a tiny human to look after forever now." I reply rubbing my belly since he was kicking. He's always kicking actually, but I'm so used to it at this point that it barely even phases me. Unless he's kicking into my ribs because that does hurt.
