Kyojuro's POV
Our schedules were packed after our lunch date that day, leaving very little room for us to see each other let alone talk on the phone. During that time, I realized that I missed her. Waking up in my bed alone was a feeling I started to not enjoy. I picked my phone up and saw a text from her, which brought a smile.
Tsukie: Good Morning Handsome, sorry I fell asleep last night; I really did want to talk to you. I'll see you at the Hashira meeting this afternoon?
Me: Good Morning, Beautiful. Don't apologize, baby. We've both been busy. I can come to pick you up at the office to spend time together.
I looked at the text and almost didn't send it because my fears were creeping up my spine, but I sent it anyway. I got ready and went down to breakfast before she answered back.
Tsukie: I would love that.
Smiling at the text, my mother giggled. Then, looking up, I saw her smiling.
"It's good to see you happy again, son," she started. "Those few months after your birthday were miserable, and I've never seen you that way. That smile suites you."
"Thank you, mother," I said, eating my bagel.
We all talked and had an enjoyable breakfast without any interruptions. Then, I took my brother to school and went to work. I kept looking at my watch with the meetings and visits, wanting time to go faster. After my last meeting of the day was practically running to my car and rushing to Tsukie's family business. Walking into the front lobby, the girls at the counter were eyeing me.
"Good afternoon Mr. Rengoku. How can we be of service to you?" One of them asked, re-arranging their boobs.
"Good afternoon ladies, I don't suppose you could get me a key card for the Kajiura's office space?" I asked, using my charm to hurry the process up.
"Ugh! Of course," the other grumbled. "She's in training with the new recruit."
As I walked away from the front desk, I could hear one of the girls say, "I liked it better when they weren't talking to each other." I wanted to turn back to tell them why they loved it. I hated it. Making my way up to the top few floors, I was getting more excited just to see her. When the doors opened, Tsukie's assistant Kiko was ready to greet me and tried to hold back a groan. Her assistant was constantly hitting on me, and the way she would so call 'flirt' made me cringe.
"Hey handsome, didn't expect you to stop by just to see me," Kiko said, twirling her hair around her finger.
"Hello to you too, Ms. Ebina, no if you will excuse me –" I said, trying to get by, but she just scooted in front of me.
"Oh, come on, Rengoku, it's not like you're official, and I hear through the grapevine that you're not interested in her anyway. There's a closet right down the hall, or if you want me in your bed, you can always call me," she said, slipping her number in my shirt pocket.
Taking a deep breath, I placed my hands on her shoulders and moved past her to where Tsukie was. I knew what I did during those months went around her office like wildfire, but I was going to be sure to change that view of me. Walking into the training room, my mood was lifted when I caught sight of her. She wore a knee-length pencil skirt with a black halter top and pumps. What I would give to see all of it on my bedroom floor.
"Hada, jump, for the love of Gods," Tsukie yelled as I looked up to see her trainee on a ledge plastered to the wall. She didn't even notice that I was behind her, or maybe she did and was just too focused on her task at hand.
"Mm-Ms. Kajiura..." the girl named Hada whined.
"Now!" Tsukie's voice roared in the room. Hada was still not moving, and Tsukie grabbed a gun filled with paintballs by her feet and shot her in the chest. "Now you're dead. Let's go. I have to leave for a meeting."
