Tsukie's Pov

Looking at the car waiting for me, I could feel my hands start to shake.

"Nervous? I was on my first mission," I turned and smiled at my teacher.

"Papa," I said, turning to give him one last hug.

My father held me tight. "You'll do great. Your mother and I will be right here when you get back. But, be careful, my little moon."

With his blessing, I hopped in the car with the Kakushi as they took me to my first mission as an official demon slayer. The sun was just now on its way to setting when we arrived at the outskirt of a small town by the ocean. The lapping of the waves caused a stir in my stomach. I usually loved the sound of water, but not tonight. Walking to an abandoned home, I started wishing that I wasn't on this trip solo. Secretly I wished my best friend was with me, but he was sent on his first mission elsewhere. Walking closer, I took in all information I was told on the car ride over.

- Two members at the Kanoto level were supposed to meet me here. So, I wasn't entirely solo.

- The demon may or may not be a Kizuki...great.

- Gods help me if it is.

Silently I walked through the door taking in the surroundings. The smell of dust and must was almost suffocating. There was a slight noise from above, and I didn't dare call out. There was another 'creak' above me, making my way down the hall. Halting, I did my best trying to hear the other corps members or the demon, but my hearing wasn't as good as Kyojuro's. Placing my hand on the wall, I concentrated on trying to feel for something, but it wasn't happening.

"Shit," I whispered to myself.

Walking down another hall, something or someone fell through the ceiling. The familiar uniform caused my breath to hold. Rushing to the guy sitting up, I checked him over quick.

"Are you alright?" I asked, watching the hole above us. "Where's your partner?"

"That demon is a lot stronger than we thought. You need to run while you can," he said, coughing what seemed like to be water.

"What you're name? What am I about to deal with," I said, staying focused on that hole and our surroundings.

"So stupid, Kajiura," he said as I looked at him in shock. "Yeah, those beautiful eyes are a dead giveaway from your father, the Hashira," the guy said as a slight blush crossed my face. "Ono, my name is Ono, and my partner's name is Miura, but I'm sure he didn't make it."

Footsteps started rushing us now, and what sounded like a tidal wave. Another guy with cuts on his face came running towards us, fear all over his features.

"Run!" Miura yelled.

I grabbed Ono as we made it to a nearby room before the water rushed towards us. A loud howl tore through the home.

"Where's your sword, dude?!" Ono whispered yelled to his partner.

"I dropped it back there," Miura said, voice shaking still.

"How do you drop your sword?" I asked, looking at him in disbelief.

"Did they really send us a Mizunoto to help us?" Miura said, grabbing his head.

"At least I know not to drop my sword like an idiot," I snarled. "What a dick."

"Hey!"

"Whoops, I guess that slipped out of my thoughts like your sword did out of your hand," I said, smiling at myself. I didn't need to be that mean, but the opportunity was there; I couldn't help it.
