4 Years Later

"Oh lord, I'm gonna be late." She screamed while trying to run through the streets of New York and drink her coffee at the same time. "Ooooh that's hot." In these situations, Maddie would always expect a song like 'Best Day Of My Life' by American Authors to be playing in the background. It was all part of her illusion that her life was like a movie.

22 year old Maddie Foster ran as fast as she could to her job, she couldn't be late today, not today. Since it was a special day, Maddie decided to dress up a little. She wore a black studded dress that complimented her figure and height, along with a chunky eagle necklace that occasionally plopped everywhere as she ran. Maddie pulled it all of by wearing 'Colie' pumps. She had to look great, after all, she has been working for Cosmo for 4 years. Deep down she wished that she wasn't the only one that remembered it was her four year job anniversary. She quickly sprinted her way into the huge building with the revolving doors, jogged to just fit into a packed elevator and made it to the front desk...20 minute late.

"Your late." Cindy from the front desk said plainly while Maddie panted and tried to get her words out.

"Hey Cindy. How are you this fine morning? You look great." Maddie fake laughed, trying to get away with being late again. The only she had left was charm and that wasn't working for her.

"Save it Foster. How have they not fired you yet?" She asked, sounding baffled.

---LINE BREAK---

Sure Maddie had a habit of being late, but that didn't stop her from being the popular women at work. As she walked into her office to sit at her desk with all her work, people greeted the young women and congratulated her on her success for the past four years. But the person who was mostly excited for her was her co-worker, her partner in crime, Nina Morgan.

"There she is. Miss Maddie Foster!" Nina screamed while using her pen as a mic. As happy as she was, it would always hurt her on the inside whenever someone called her 'Miss Foster'. It reminded her of Liam, even after 4 years, it still hurt. Thankfully, she had always had great people around her. Everyone at work were so lovely and positive, her boyfriend Dean always made her feel special. Sure, she missed all her old friends but the new ones were great as well. They were like a small family. It was Maddie, Dean, Jacob and Victoria.

Dean wasn't the same, he changed for the better. He'd laugh more, was more social and much more confident. Being with his brother really helped him pull himself together. Now, Dean owned a music studio. It was a huge shock to Maddie at first, she never even knew he was into music but he most definitely was. At first, the business seemed like a dying field but as time went on, it was a success. He'd meet so many talented people all the time and loved making music. He also had a part time job working at a coffee house not too far away from her job, she'd always visit him for her lunch break. Even though Jacob was older than the three, it wasn't hard for him to fit in. In fact, they always choose to eat dinner over at Dean & Jacobs apartment becauset he was absolutely amazing at cooking.

Then you had Maddie's best friend, Victoria Quinn. Victoria was 22 years old and grew up in New York. She was a stunning blonde who was about 5'4 and had beautiful blue eyes. The two girls had first met the first month Maddie settled into New York, they were apartment neighbours. Just like that they clicked. Victoria wasn't afraid to say anything, she was always there when Maddie would have arguments with Dean, she had the perfect cure for breakups. She'd do whatever she wants because no one was the boss of her and was not afraid to live on the edge. She did the most ridiculous things at inappropriate moments but you can't help but laugh at her choices.

Later that evening, Maddie and Dean had reservations for a dinner at one of the finest restaurants in New York but ditched. Instead, the two decided to order take-out, pick out a movie and cuddle. She didn't care about an expensive date, just chilling in the couch with one of Dean's shirts on was fine for her. Maddie would never get to the very end of a movie, she'd fall asleep halfway through unless it was romantic films that made her weep.
