Far From Home: Chapter 13

I woke up completely exhausted at the lack of sleep that I received. I packed up the weapons that I left out last night and I did my morning routine before grabbing my stuff and meeting my classmates in the lobby. We walked out of the hotel with our stuff, Mr. Harrington appeared behind us. "Hey, good news! We're going to Prague!" Mr. Harrington announced.

"What?" Peter asked and I placed my hand on the bridge of my nose. "I don't have the energy for this," I said.

"Yeah. Tour company called. They upgraded us. You should've heard me on the phone with them. I really gave them hell. Here's our ride," Mr. Harrington said, I started to walk towards where Mr. Harrington pointed when I stopped in my tracks at the sight of the bus. "Are you kidding me?" I asked myself and that's when Peter appeared next to me. "What?" He asked before looking at the bus. "Peter, what's going on?" Ned asked.

"I think Nick Fury just hijacked our summer vacation," Peter said and I walked over to the line of students and waited for my turn to get on the bus since I was excited to sleep. I got on the bus and I sat down in a seat close to the window. Peter sat down next to me. "Are you okay?" He asked and I gave him a tired thumbs up which he obviously didn't believe. "I stayed up late making trick arrows," I said in a whisper and he looked at me with a confused expression. "Why?" He asked.

"Because someone left me a late birthday present on my bed last night, that consisted of a bow and quiver with four arrows inside," I said.

"Do you know who they're from?" He asked and I shrugged. "I have no clue," I said and the bus started to drive away. Our conversation stopped and my eyes started to close until I fell asleep.

There was a light shake that woke me up, I lifted my head up. "Hey, we stopped for a break if you wanted to walk around," Peter said as he slide out of the seat. I followed thinking that maybe that four hours or so of sleep would be enough to keep me awake for the rest of the day. When I got off of the bus I noticed a blonde lady standing in the doorway of a building. I was about to walk over when someone stopped me. "Hi, you're Santana, right?" The guy asked and I nodded. "Yeah, that's me," I said getting awkward at the interaction as I had just woken up.

He kept the conversation going for what I thought was forever until he finally had an excuse to leave since all of mine weren't working.

I walked into the building and the blonde woman was there and she pointed right in front of her. "Stand here," she said in a thick European accent that I couldn't place. She started to take random measurements without explaining a single thing. I noticed by her suit that she was sent by Fury, so there was comfort in the fact she wasn't a random woman taking my measurements. When she finished she started to clean up. "It's for a new suit," she explained in as few words as possible, I nodded and thanked her before quickly leaving to get on the bus.

I was about to get onto the bus with everyone else when a hand-pulled me away from the line. "Where did you go?" Adora asked and I was confused at her question. "To the bathroom?" I said as a question due to the randomness of her question and the seriousness on her face. "Look, Adora, I haven't done anything to you, and if I have please tell me be-" before I could continue Adora cut me off. "I don't have an issue with you. I just think you should be more secretive with your.... adventures," Adora said before releasing my arm and walking towards the bus, I was left confused by her statement.

"Santana, the bus is about to leave," MJ said as she walked up to me. We walked into the line together and I was still confused about the interaction I just had.

We arrived at our hotel and by the time we got to Prague, it was already nighttime. When we walked into the hotel we were all impressed, the hotel was much nicer than the one we had previously stayed at. "Everyone, get settled, rest up because tonight, the big surprise is Prague's annual Carnival of Lights," Mr. Harrington said and I saw the same blonde woman as before walk into the hotel with a case and walk towards a hallway. I dismissed myself and followed her.

Once I found her she handed me the suitcase and walked away. I hesitated as I didn't want anyone to notice so I placed the small suitcase into my backpack and walked back to the group. "Looks like we're roommates again," MJ said.

"I'm glad, I can't stand anyone else here, besides Peter and Ned, of course," I said and MJ smiled. "Of course," she said in a joking manner. We got our keycards and MJ and I started to walk up to our room. My phone rang and I answered it. "It's Hill, there's an earpiece with your suit. Put it on and await further instructions," Hill said before hanging up. I took the suit out of my backpack once we got into the room and I opened the case found the earpiece almost immediately. I placed it into my ear and that's when I noticed that there wasn't a suit but a watch inside of the case.

There was a not on top of the suitcase. "Put the watch on your wrist. Press the button when you need your suit," was all it said. I took the watch and I noticed the heaviness of the watch, I placed it on my wrist and I closed the case and placed it beside my bed. "So, what's going on?" MJ asked.

"What?" I asked, still out of it from the lack of sleep. "You have a case that I haven't seen before that had an earpiece and a watch inside. That's a spy thing if I've ever seen one," MJ said and I sighed. "There is supposedly a monster attack in Prague tonight," I said and MJ looked confused for a moment. "Like the one in Venice?" She asked and I nodded. "There's something else going on isn't there?" MJ asked and I nodded. "How did you know that?" I asked.

"I'm very observant," she said.

"Adora has been acting weird," I said as I sat down on my bed. "How is she acting weird?" MJ asked, I hesitated before answering. "She has been acting suspiciously. When I went to go get more arrows, I saw her leaving her room. She told me not to tell anyone that I saw her leave and then when we were at the rest stop thing, she pulled me aside and said I should be more secretive with my adventures. What is that supposed to mean?" I asked, now realizing how odd it was.

"That is definitely weird, I'm not sure if it is enough for you to be wary of her," MJ said.

"I don't know, MJ. I have a gut feeling that she's up to no good," I said and MJ shrugged. "You're more experienced in this than I am. If you think something is up with her then I believe you, I'll help you keep tabs on her," she offered and that gave me an idea. "That would be great. I think I might have a theory," I said.
