i present to you...

"ruin me part.2"

deryah

"what?"

"i said i love you."

"no you don't. that's not funny. you're drunk, let me help you back to your room." i tried to pull away until he pulled me back in closer.

"i do love you, but i know you don't love me. you're not over zabini. i still see it in the way you both argue. it's completely pointless, but you both love to have each other's attention. but, i want to be with you,"

"josh, please-"

"i want you for myself, but i know you're not completely over him. so use me."

"huh? what do you mean use you?" i had been completely taken aback by his offer. how could he have offered such an absurd thing? did he really think i would've taken him up on that?

"for sex, money; whatever you need. i'll do anything for you. just forget about him and be with me, please." i could only hold my breath as he stared at me in my eyes; it was like he had sobered up so quickly. i tried turning my head away to avoid any more eye contact, but he grabbed my chin, holding it tight. "deryah,"

moving his hand away from my face, i grabbed his hand. "come on, let's get you to your room."

instead of fighting me, he only took my hand, and began walking, leading me to his dorm.

walking through the crowd, we passed blaise — who no doubt gave cold stares to joshua— but when he saw our hands, the shield on his face faltered for a minute before he looked me in my eyes. his face was cold, like he could care less, but that one crack in his shield told it all.

i tried to mouth something, anything to him, to let him know that joshua was drunk, and that it meant nothing, but before i could even try to get the words out, he looked away. he just moved away from his spot at the bar, and moved to the edges around the common room.

reaching joshua's room, he opened the door, walked in and plopped down on his bed; it was like he already knew what i was going to tell him.

i brought him a glass of tap water, and something to help with his soon to come headache. "did you have a good time tonight?" i smiled, walking over to him as he got comfortable under his duvet.

"of course i did- you were there." he started.

"joshua-"

"okay, i'm done." he smiled that same charming grin as always as we looked at each other for a minute.

getting up, i dismissed the interaction, and wished him a good night. "have a good night joshua, sleep well." turning away, i was stopped in my tracks by the feeling of his hand wrapping tightly around my arm.

"i lied, i'm not done- i'm never done when it comes to you."

"please don't-" my voice was exhausted as i pleaded with him.

"just hear me out, okay? just hear me out. it's easier to be loved rather than love, when it comes to dating"

"what? what does that even mean?"
