Narchril, she was checking her arrows the next morning and she picked up a knife and she looked at it with a careful eye.
She threw the knife and it whipped through the air and it nicked the side of Fili's ear, as he was leaning against a tree and he looked around in a brief bit of confusion, until he saw that she was spinning another one in her hand and he glared at her furiously.
"What? I really needed a rather clear target for my knife throwing. It is not my fault that you were in the way of it." She muttered as Kili was laughing at his brother's face, as Fili yanked the knife out of the tree.
"What exactly is funny about this to you, Kili?" Fili asked and his fist was closed around the knife. "This elf just humiliated us, she shot you with a poisoned arrow and now she has the audacity to pretend that we are all but beneath her?" He asked and Narchril shook her head.
"Brother. She shot me, yes, but she gave me the remedy after the fact and she took the arrow out afterward. You can hardly say that she thinks of us as beneath her, after rectifying a mistake that she made." Kili countered with a reasonable argument and Fili looked grumpy, as Narchril was watching the arguments and counters between the two, which were very entertaining to Narchril, having been away from her siblings for a fair amount of time and they hadn't seen her for years, having all moved away except for her younger brother and younger sister.
"She is an elf! You know what Thorin would say to that!" Fili countered and Kili shrugged, as he looked around at the surrounding woods, even making a specific point of looking up at the overhang.
"I don't see Thorin anywhere, do you?" Kili countered and Fili threw up his hands in exasperation, before he rather carelessly threw the knife right at Narchril, who caught the knife by the hilt in her hand, as the brothers' eyes widened swiftly and she flipped the knife up into the air and caught it again. She put it into the sheath on her belt, as she walked over to her horse, which nickered at the sight of her.
"Do either of you have horses?" She questioned as she riffled through the saddlebags and they looked at each other.
"Yeah, we do. They are farther along, hidden in the trees." Kili replied after Fili refused to speak to her and she put out the fire carefully.
Narchril swung up onto her horse's back and Kili got up onto his feet, as Fili helped him and they found their horses. Once they were mounted up into their saddles, they began to trot after her. "Where were you headed?"
"Away from both the Orcs and the Wargs, ideally. Where were you two off too?" Narchril questioned and she led the way from the forest.
"We were headed out to meet Thorin and the others. When we ran into the other end of your bow." Kili noted and Narchril winced a bit.
"Right. Well..." A howl went up and Narchril looked over her shoulder at the woods and her horse neighed, as he shifted and reared. "Easy." Narchril murmured quietly to her steed as she drew back her bowstring and they both looked at her. "That sounds like..."
Five Wargs came out of the shadows and Narchril shot one in the eye and it dropped like a fly.
She released another arrow and it went into the foreleg of one of the big wargs and it fell.
Kili reached for his sword and he managed to slash an eye out of one of the Wargs and Narchril swiveled around and fired another arrow at the same Warg, as it toppled.
"Brother!" Fili shouted as Kili put his sword away in time to catch the bow that Fili threw to him. Kili drew back the bow and fired at the nearest of the Orcs, which was on the back of one of the last two Wargs.
The arrow took it right through the eye and Narchril's eyes flashed and she fired at the final Warg and it had swiftly collapsed. "You're not the only archer." Kili pointed out and she was shrugging slightly at him, and she was working to retrieve her arrows, what she could anyways.
"We should leave. Before more of the foul beasts and their Masters return to hunt us again." Fili noted and Kili was looking over at his elder brother with a small nod.
"You are right, brother. But we can't just simply leave this elf on her own with Orcs and Wargs now both of the species, all hunting her." Kili pointed out to Fili, who was looking at his younger brother like he was rather insane.
"If this goes badly and Thorin is going to be angry, then on your shoulders be it." Fili stated and they formed a small trio, as they began to ride off toward a nearby town in hopes, of getting some supplies.
