Yong Liang called his disciples to gather around and only leaving four to guard the village, told others to do everything and anything possible to find that female ghost. At this point, they were all so sure that the sickness had something to do with this particular ghost.

They started searching the grounds, and Liu Ya was impressed at how Yong Liang tactfully made sure they would always be together, yet made it look so effortless. She didn't assume anyone else even noticed.

"Second in command, it would be better if we can use talismans," a disciple from their group spoke up. We could be able to draw the ghost in, or at least lead it into a trap. We won't be able to find it just going around."

"What good can a talisman do?" A female disciple budged in. "If we use something like the stygian lure flags, that would be able to draw the ghost in. Talismans are no good. Especially when we only know how to create protection talismans. Only certain people know how to use talismans to other purposes." She did not specify who 'certain people' was, but it was clear to everyone whom she was talking about.

"Shimei, you shouldn't say such things." The disciple beside her said, nudging her.

"Shimei," Yong Liang said strongly, "you know how our sect leader feels about these stuff. You should not, as a Jiang disciple, do something that our sect leader does not agree on. And, it is not like you are Wei Wu Xian. Wei Wu Xian was a powerful cultivator before he started using these methods. If anything goes wrong, he would be able to control it. Can you?"

"That's maybe because the Jiang sect does not teach us. If we knew how to use them, we would have already caught that ghost by now. I have heard that in the night hunt arranged in Lanling right after the Sunshot campaign, the Jiang sect did really well. But that was only thanks to the methods used by Wei Wu Xian."

"Don't say that," an older disciple spat. "You were not in the sect back then, and you have no idea how much trouble Wei Ying's actions brought us back then. Sect leader Jiang was barely able to not make the whole sect an outcast from the cultivational world. If not for him getting rid of his so-called brother, we would have had the same fate as the Wen sect. You wouldn't have a Jiang sect to be a disciple in."

Yong Liang knew he had to say something or do something. But he couldn't figure out what. Him saying anything positive about Wei Wu Xian was not going to do any good. But he didn't feel like bad mouthing him either. As much as he loved sect leader Jiang, he didn't hate or even dislike Wei Wu Xian either. Also, it was obvious to him that all the anger and frustration sect leader Jiang was directing towards Wei Wu Xian was born through pain and not hatred. It was in plain sight. The fact that sect leader Jiang missed his brother so much was written in his eyes. Yong Liang was surprised how no one else could see something so obvious...

"Arguing is not going to do us any good." Liu Ya said, feeling sorry for Yong Liang. As much as she was interested in all these new information getting dropped onto her lap, she couldn't brush off the feeling that Yong Liang was definitely not enjoying this.

"It's not like, not arguing is going to do us any good either." The female disciple spat back. "I don't see the other groups arguing, but that hadn't done them any good either. That ghost must have either run so far by now or hiding somewhere laughing at us for being so incapable."

Liu Ya wanted to say something back that would knock off the arrogance out of that disciple's life, but her brain was not capable of coming up with a suitable retort for it was concentrating on something else. She tugged Yong Liang's sleeve, grabbing his attention. "Is someone crying?"

They all looked towards the sound. It definitely was faint, but it didn't sound like an animal.

"It's not coming from the village, though." The female disciple said suddenly curios, forgetting about her complaints.
