It truly was annoying to have four guards walking with them. Two in front and two behind. But thankfully they did keep their distance. And it wasn't like sect leader Nie was going to let them just walk around all alone after what happened.

Hong Guang had to agree that the road from the Unclean Realm to Yueyang was kind of gloomy and secluded. So, it was good that the four disciples also came with them. It was a blessing that sect leader Nie even let them go out leaving the protection of the small fortress behind. But both Hong Guang and Chun Hua was going out of their minds trapped inside the Unclean Realm having nothing better to do. They even tried contributing to the small chores, but no one allowed them saying they could not let the guests of the sect leader do chores.

And even though the first few days living in that foreign place seemed fun, after a few days they didn't have any new place to explore. And the little imaginary secret missions of Hong Guang did not seem so fun after what they went through either. Hong Guang could not believe how helpless they were when they got attacked. She never imagined that being with the disciples of such a great sect, she would feel so unprotected, so disadvantaged during a fight. Sect leader Nie had been wracking his brain the last few days trying to assume who was the ones that attacked them. But even he couldn't come up with someone who would have a motive or that kind of power and skill. He had tried to connect the fighting methods with any sect he knew, but neither him nor his disciples could make any connection.

And the way their powers just vanished! Both the girls by now had figured out fighting is not the strength of sect leader Nie. He's more of an erudite than a martial. But even if he couldn't fight, his giant of a general definitely could. And the other disciples that went with them were some of the best. Of course, sect leader Nie handpicked the group that was to leave to Gusu himself. And the girls were sure he picked the best. So, how could the ones that came after them overpowered the Nie disciples. Sect leader Nie was saying that their golden-cores became useless. Even though Hong Guang had heard about such a thing, when Chun Hua asked her what it was, she found herself unable to answer. From what both the girls have tried to learn the last few days, it seemed to be what the cultivators gain their power from. It's like an organ in their body and somehow the ones who attacked them, were able to completely paralyse its functionality.

Only the sword skills of the general and the other disciples saved their lives. Even then, two were gravely wounded. They were still under the observation of doctors. And others also were at least graced slightly by swords. The only ones that came out completely unscathed were the two of them and sect leader Nie, whom the others were so willing to even give up their lives to. Sect leader Nie stood before them the whole time his disciples fought the black clad men using his body as a barrier. He kept holding his large fan like a weapon. Hong Guang was half sure that it truly was a weapon. But even she doubted that if the attackers were able to surpass the disciples that even with sect leader Nie's protection, they would survive. For the first time Hong Guang thought that they were truly going to die.

But thankfully when she was almost about to make up her mind and accept her faith, the men ran off. Even though the general ran after them, he was very exhausted himself. So, they lost them and since them have neither clue nor any sighting of the attackers anywhere.

"Hong Guang, do you think that he would like this? Maybe we shouldn't have wasted his money on this."

Chun Hua had been fussing about the gift that the girls had picked for sect leader Nie. It was Hong Guang's idea. Seeing how much Chun Hua talked about all the things that sect leader Nie had done for them – which Hong Guang didn't believe to be that much, but telling that to the other girl was useless – Hong Guang had told Chun Hua that they should thank him with a gift.
