A/N: Happy 2023 for all my awesome readers. Hope this year will be a very good roller-coaster ride that is not so scary or hit rock bottom. Virtual hugs for y'all from this author as thanks for reading this long as book :D.

I know it's not Saturday. I tried to finish this by Saturday but couldn't. But I decided to upload it in the new year hoping it'll be a nice little new year gift for y'all. I'm sorry that this is a small part. I really wanted to end this chapter from this part because there wasn't much left in the chapter. But for some reason the little conversations that take place between our beloved characters in this chapter was really hard to come up with than those complicated fighting scenes and stuff lol.

Qi Xue was the most angered by the seniors asking for them to leave. She really thought that they were getting onto something and this time she really would be able to help. But seeing that it was a good chance for her to get her trouble seeking brother out of there, she took the lead and encouraged others to leave the little hut. Jin Chan was the hardest to convince, because he was sure that Hanguang Jun and the YiLing Patriarch was up to no good. But when Qi Xue told him that if he decided to stay, he would have to work with Hanguang Jun as everyone else is leaving that town, he grudgingly admitted defeat and decided to leave.

"If that idiot is lying, I'll make sure the truth would come out." He whispered under his breath through gritted teeth.

"Well brother, if young master Jin is lying the best way to catch him is to keep an eye on his, isn't it?"

"I thought you want to protect that idiot. Why are you helping me now?" Jin Chan asked her suspiciously.

"Well, why would I protect someone who doesn't need protection? Especially against you." She dodged Jin Chan's slap. "I do believe young master Jin is a good person."

Despite all of them thinking that Wei Wu Xian was bluffing when he told them they needed rest, as their mind started to relax and get away from the strain of duty, they started to feel the strains of exhaustion. So, none of them felt like using more energy to fly and slowly wobbled, following Zi Zhen who was leading them to this small cheerful town he knew of. It took them hours, but Zi Zhen took them through a path lying through a forest and it felt quite refreshing. Despite some of them feeling like they had conversations hanging between their friends that they needed to address, everyone kept to themselves shuffling and reshuffling thoughts in their little minds while listening to the wind on the branches and the occasional chirping of the most random bird.

'The town' was indeed considerably small but, 'it is a lively and cheerful one and people there knows how to have fun,' being true to what Zi Zhen had stated. More than feeling happy that they were out of that gloomy miserable place as they expected, they started to feel so weird and unsettling looking at the relaxed happy faces. Just a few miles away, people were morning their loved ones and are fearing for their own fragile lives. It somehow felt wrong that these people shared none of those worries and went on with their lives seemingly oblivious to others' troubles.

Qi Xue again took the lead breaking the silence. "Young master Ouyang, it indeed is a nice and cheerful town. Exactly what we all needed after all that had happened. But it has been years since we had breakfast and my stomach is about to fall." A passer-by looked at this weird little maiden who stated such a thing out loud. What young lady would say such a thing? But her friends who are now very used to her unladylike remarks here and there didn't gave it any thought. "It would be even more nice and cheerful if we can find a nice place to have a good hot meal."

Not a single protest was heard and soon enough the whole procession was seated at a small restaurant thinking the food could not get on their tables any faster. Jing Yi stuffed three chicken nuggets in his mouth the moment the food was laid on their table, but Jin Ling remained still in deep thought rubbing Fairy's ears. He did not feel relaxed at all. Whether he had a valid reason or not, the fact that he killed a man would not go anywhere. And no matter how much he tried to shake off the feeling and relax, the thought of more trouble is just awaiting, refused to leave him alone.
