{Luke}

"Good morning, beautiful." Evie beams as she approaches me in the diner, giving me a kiss on the forehead before sitting down opposite me.

"Morning." I say quietly, looking back down at the menu in front of me, the slightest shade of pink on my cheeks.

Evie looked extra nice today with her black skinny jeans, a customised My Chemical Romance tshirt, grey skater shoes, and her long hair pulled back into a ponytail. I loved the fact that she wore her hair up like that, it let you see her face, and the great smile she had. Not many girls around here wear their hair up. Evie did though, and I liked it.

I'm not in love with her, or anything like that, I just love her. She is the big sister I never had. She helped me when I needed, and she always helped to make me feel included. I was really shy when I was younger, and she showed me that I didn't have to be, that I shouldn't be embarrassed by what I liked, whether it would be music, or how I chose to dress. She made it seem like nothing was ever bad if it made me happy. I was still a little shy, hence the blushing but that was just me, and that was okay. I just never understood why she always called me beautiful.

"It is just us today?" She asked, a smile spread widely across her face.

"Yeah. Michael said he had something to do, and Cal was gone before I even left the house. What about Soph?"

"She's got lectures." She shrugs.

I motion for the waitress to come over. "Morning, guys," she says, glancing at her watch, "just about."

"Hey." I say like an idiot, cheeks turning back to that slight shade of pink from before.

Here name was Tracy. You get to know people when you go to the same place everyday for months on end. She was so pretty. Apparently, she was at university studying to become a nurse but got this job just to help. I knew university wasn't exactly cheap, from what Evie and Soph had told me anyway, so I knew she was smart. Not only with the studying but knowing she'd need a job to support herself, and stuff.

She wasn't very tall, well, I'm 6'4, and even Evie at 5'8 looks small to me, so that's just stating the obvious. Her hair was dyed a dark shade of red, and it complimented her blue eyes perfectly. She had the cutest smile. I hadn't even realised that her and Evie were having a conversation about some new boy that Evie was supposedly seeing. Well that's interesting.

"So when are you going to bring him in? I want to meet him." Tracy said happily.

"Oh no, it's not like that." Evie quickly shakes her head, looking down at the table, voice quiet.

"I didn't know you were seeing someone?" I but in.

Evie looks at me, I don't think she realised I was actually paying attention, I wasn't but I caught the important part. "What about you, Hemmings? When are you going to ask out that girl you've got a crush on?" She smirked.

I hate her.

"Who's the lucky girl then, Luke?" Tracy asked with a smile.

My throat felt tight, and it was like I couldn't breathe. I could feel the heat rise up my neck. 'You', I wanted to say but the word, that one simple word, wouldn't come, just wasn't happening, so instead what my brain decided to say was, "No one you know."

'Luke, you idiot!', I screamed internally. Really, that's what my brain calculated to be a good thing to say? I'm going to die alone.

"Oh, well maybe I'll get to meet her too," Tracy smiles again but not as big, I notice, "so, the usual is it?"
