As the time went on, the more we got bored. I was sitting on Calum's lap in the arm chair, Michael was playing on his xbox and Luke and Tracy were on the recliner chair with their feet up, having a nap. I don't know why Evie has called us here, and no one has heard from Ashton for two days, since he left to spend the weekend with his mum. I assumed he was meant to be here too but I guess not. It was now almost two hours since the time she had told us to be here and everyone was getting agitated.
"Hey, are you okay?" Calum asked quietly.
"Yeah," I nod, "just want to know what Evie called us for."
"I know what you mean. I know she's almost always late but this is a bit much."
"What about Ashton, is he supposed to be here?" I ask.
"I don't know, Evie just said she needed us here," he shrugged, "do you think it's about this workshop thing she did this weekend?"
"Maybe. It could be another job like her one in London. Maybe it's longer and further away that's why she's called us all to tell us." I look at him.
"It's possible. As long as she's not telling us that she's moving for good. That would suck." He laughs lightly.
"It would." I lay against his chest, my eyes on the clock. I smile as he kisses my head lightly.
We all sit quietly for a while, even Michael gets bored of his game, turning it off, then we hear a key in the door. Michael throws a pillow at Luke and Tracy, waking them up. He shushed them before they could argue with him about throwing things at them, motioning to the door. They sit up more and we wait in silence, hearing bags drop to the floor.
I look at Calum confused, "Ashton?" I whisper to him. He just shrugs as a response.
There was some whispering coming from the hallway and then Evie walked in slowly, Ashton walking in close behind her, she nods at me as she walks round to the window, Ashton keeping his eyes down, not looking at anyone. I look over to Michael with a confused look, he just shrugs, shaking his head. I turn back to Evie and Ashton, and they glance at each other quickly.
"Would you mind telling us what the fuck is going on?" Luke says in irritation.
"Well, we actually wanted to talk to you about something." Evie said. She seemed nervous for some reason.
"What is it?" Michael asked.
"Firstly, do you guys promise to let us finish what we have to say, without interrupting?" We all nod.
"Well, I guess you guys should probably know that we know what you've been doing. Trying to a get us to be friends again and stuff." Ashton says, looking up for the first time. He looks tired, and like he hadn't slept properly for a few days.
"Yeah, even after we asked you not to." Evie added.
"We just wanted to bring you here and sit you down and tell you that it needs to stop, like now."
"It's been over a year, and yeah, it's really sweet that you guys care about us so much, but Ashton and I are okay. We found a way that works for us, and you guys need to understand that as much as we love you, you don't need to get involved. We're fine," Evie looks at Ashton, they smile at each other then Ashton puts his hand out, Evie taking it and entwining their fingers.
"We're more than fine." Ashton says quietly.
"I fucking knew it!" Michael says loudly, "I told you," he points at Calum with a proud smile, "I fucking told you last week and you didn't believe me. Suck on that bitches!"
