-'Hernando POV'-

As I watched the woman leave I slowly turned to my rat Samuel who was on my shoulder now. He let out a squeak. "I guess she'll be a good friend.." I say rubbing my shoulder. I slid down my hood. He let out another squeak. "I know it's bad I lied about who I am but what else can I do? I don't want to ruin our friend ship..." I sigh as I twiddle with my thumbs looking down. Samuel let out another squeak this one more moody. "I'll tell her one day, for now my Hernando." I say confidently and put my hand on my chest. Samuel rolls his eyes and crawls back down to the ground.

"Yes yes, let's go home now." I sighs and walk off back to my old family's home. Strange to say how old family. Not like their really my family anymore.. I sigh and walks up to the house. Casita opened the door slowly and quietly. I let out a thankful sigh and walked inside. Samuel ran off up the stairs and to tue picture frame. I followed him, quietly making my way up.

As I reached the top of the steps I looked over at all the glowing doors. What I'd give to be apart of this family again for real but, for now the walls of the Casita will have to do. I grab the side of the picture frame and open it slowly. I turn around facing the doors and cross my fingers, hold my breath and close my eyes. Falling back into the hole in the wall. As I land on the floor I get up and close the picture door.

Heading down the walls of the casita slowly I rub my arm. Maybe I should tell her my name.. my real name at least. No no.. maybe I shouldn't. Hernando is scared of nothing I've said that before... "But I'm not Hernando.. I'm just Bruno." I say out loud quietly.

As I land on my old red arm chair I let my body sink down into the cushions. I slide off my sandals and rest my head in the palm of my hand. Closing my eyes half way and letting my mind run. I've learned my lesson about talking out loud. Dolores heard everything. That's probably why when I'm hungry I find some arepas de queso's out on a plate for me. It's good to know someone in the family cares still.

I turn around in my chair, my legs propped up on one of the arm rest and my head on the other. I crossed my arms over my chest and let out a sigh. She seems nice.. maybe she won't be nice if she finds out who I am! No no she's new here she doesn't know of my past. What I'd Julieta tells her! Or..or Abuela tells her all about her evil son! Oh no oh no...

I was snapped out of my thoughts my Samuels squeak. "Oh sorry.." I whisper, he was under my hand as I kept tapping it up and down. "Didn't see ya.." I pet his head gently. "Well good night everyone." I whisper to all my other little rat friends as I turn off the little makeshift light I had made. As the room turns black I close my eyes and sink into sleep.

-Y/N POV-

I walk down the road and smile as kids ran past. I heard a little commotion up ahead and follow the noises. "LUISA THE DONKEYS ARE OUT AGAIN..!" A man yells. "ON IT!" Luisa yells back and runs past me. "Oh good morning Y/N!" Mirabel says walking up to me. I jump ,slightly startled by the girl. "Oh good morning Mirabel!" I look at her and smile. "Out with the kids again I see?" I say pointing to the crowd of kids behind her. "We're gonna learn about everyone gifts!" One says jumping up and down with a cup of coffee. "Alright then.. mind if I tag along?" I asks looking at Mirabel again. "Sure! Come on we're heading to the family painting." She says walking past me. The kids following her along the way. I shrug and turn to follow them as well.

"Okay so let's start from the top!" Mirabel smiles and points up to Abuela. "Okay so, let's be clear Abuela runs this show!" She starts singing. I watch her as she points to Abuela. The kids sit and listen quietly. "She led us here so many years ago! And my Tía Pepa! Her mood affects the weather!" She points to the red head on the left. "When she's unhappy, the temperature gets weird.." she moves to right and points in the middle to a faded out picture of a man. I couldn't quiet make out what he looked look. "My tío Bruno-" She began to sing again only to be cut off by a few people around her whipping their head over. "We don't talk about Bruno." They say, Mirabel gulps and smiles awkwardly."well , they say he saw the future, one day he disappeared.. oh and that's my mom Julieta! She can heal you with a meal!

"What about you're sisters? And cousins?! Who's who!" One of the kids asks. "Okay okay, so my cousin Dolores can hear a pin drop from a mile away, Camilo can shapeshift, Antonio gets his gift today! My older sisters Isabella and Luisa! One strong one graceful, perfect in every way." She sings and spins around the pictures pointing at everyone.

As the kids listened and bugged her about the family and her gift I walked looked at the faded out picture of the man named Bruno. I wonder why he left? Julieta never mentioned him before. There's probably a good reason for it. I shrug as I followed the kids and Mirabel as they walked up to the Casita.

I walked away from them and laughed quietly as the kids kept bugging her. Casita opened the door for me and I walked in. Everyone was getting ready for Antonio's gifting ceremony. I walked around till I found Julieta in the kitchen. "Cooking for Antonio's ceremony?" I ask her as I walked in. She jumped slightly and let out a giggle. "Oh Y/N you startled." She says as she turns around, brushing her hands off on her apron. "And yes I am, the others towns people are making things but I enjoy cooking." She smiles and turns off her oven.

"Well I'm sure everyone loves your cooking. I know I do." I say as I lean on the counter and take in the wonderful smell of the kitchen. "Oh yes I know you do, I saw you steal a few bites yesterday at the stand." Julieta says as she goes back to cooking. "Oh come on." I giggle "am I really that obvious?" I say smiling a little. "Yes." She lets out a sweet mother like laugh. The kind of laugh you'd get if your mother found it funny and thought you were a little dumb to think you wouldn't get caught.

"Well is there anything I can do to help for Antonio's night?" I ask walking over to her and smiled. "Actually there is..." she smirks and looks at me. "Oh no.." I say.
