Chapter 11

-'Hernando' POV-

I stormed off up the trail. Tugging on my hood and taking deep breaths. You idiot you probably just gave your self away.. I walked down the town road slowly, making sure no one was out.

"Hernando!" Y/N called from behind me. "HERNANDO WAIT!" She caught up to me. I kept walking down the road out of town and to the bridge by the river. I couldn't be seen in town and her yelling wasn't helping.

"Yes?" I asked sitting on the ledge of the bridge. Y/N walked up and sat beside me. "I'm sorry.. I shouldn't of asked you.. I can tell it makes you uncomfortable." She scooted closer to me. I looked to the side. "It's fine Y/N... I don't know why I got mad like that." I looked at her my hood still blocking my view.

"Can I ask.. why do you wear the hood?" She asked cautiously. I could tell she was cautious about asking me this question. "I umm.. I just don't really like my face.." I lied and looked away. "Oh come on Hernando, I'm sure you're handsome." She smiled and rubbed my back gently. I set the clothes she gave me to the side and blushed. "I don't think so.." I chuckled and swung my legs slowly over the ledge above the water. "Well wether you think you're handsome or not doesn't matter cause I think you are. Even if I can't see your face." She slid her hand over to mine and put hers on top of mine.

I blushed and gulped. She slid her fingers through the spaces between mine. "Come on Hernando.. don't be so sad." She stood up and tugged me to stand up. I gave in and stood up with her. She smiled and held my hands. I held her hands too and squeezed then gently. She smiled and spun on the ledge of the bridge. My heart skipped a beat as she did. What if she fell? I held on to her hand tightly as she spun.

I pulled her to me when she slipped slightly. "What are you doing? Trying to die?" I asked half angrily half worried. "I'm just messing around." She pushed my chest gently. "Well what if you get hurt doing that? You wanna make me less sad don't get up and try to kill your self right after." I snapped.

She looked at me and smirked. "Aww you're just a over protective teddy bear." She teased. I blushed and huffed. "No I'm not." I pulled away from her. She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me closer. "Yes you are." She teased and leaned closer to me.

I watched her as she did. This was just gonna be another tease and I'd be left questioning my self again. "If you wanna kiss me so bad just do it." I said. My eyes widened and I gulped. Why did I say that?! "Oh you think I wanna kiss you so bad?" She smirked. "Well okay then." She leaned in to kiss me but instead pushed me off the ledge of the bridge.

I screamed and fell down into the river below.

After a second I stood up. The water wasn't even an inch deep. I looked up at Y/N. She smirked and waved at me. "It's a bridge troll, oh no." She laughed and ran away into the woods on the path. I groaned and got out of the river. My poncho was soaked. I grabbed the one she mad me and quickly slid mine off. I slid the one she gave me and put my hood on.

It fit nice a little better than mine did. I pushed my wet hair back and chased after her. "Where did you go?" I asked.

"Right here." She said behind me. I turned around and she was gone. "Where..?" I said again "here." She said behind me. I turned the other way. "What the-" I said and turned around again. She was face to face with me.

"You found me good job." She smiled and walked over to a tree. She slid down and sat in the grass her back again the tree. I looked over at her and smiled to my self. She could be a pain but she was still fun to be around.

I walked over to her and sat down. "Tired?" She asked as I slumped down beside her. "A little." I said quietly and pulled my wet legs up to my self. "Your pants are soaked." She said pointing out the obvious.

"I couldn't tell." I joked in a serious tone. She looked at me. "Don't start that with me short man." She huffed. "Short? You're the short one." I said defensively. "I'm a inch shorter than you." She huffed. "Still shorter." I shrugged and chuckled. I turned my face to find hers by mine. She slapped my face gently. I groaned and rubbed my cheek.

"Ow." I said blandly. "Good." She smirked and sat closer to me. I looked away and chuckled. "Some best friend you are." I teased her. "Oh hush." She laid her head on my shoulder. "I don't even get to know what your face looks like." She said as she looked at the stars.

"And you never will." I say making my voice deepen. "What ever you say." She stood up using my shoulder and head to help her stand up. I groaned and chuckled at her action. "Heading off so soon?" I asked.

"Hernando I don't know about you but I like to sleep. You don't seem like you do." She laughed and walked off. "Good bye Hernando!" She called as she walked off.

"Good bye.." I said quietly.

"I really need to get my act together." I mumbled to my self. Don't slip up again... or I might actually have to leave the Encanto.

I stood up and stretched. "Samuel?" I whispered. He squeaked and came out of a bush. "I knew you were watching." I chuckled and picked him up. "Let's
Go get dinner." I said to Samuel as I walked off carrying him.
