21. PIECES BY PIECES pt2

REMI

"What are you doing here?" Audrey says to my back. I didn't even hear her come in. I turn around and face her with the address and note still in my hand. 

She looks up at me with surprised eyes. 

"I can explain." 

"Yeah, do that. Now." I demand.

Audrey looks at me and stays silent when she should be explaining herself to me. 

"Are you deaf? Do you not hear me talking to you? Is someone threatening you?" I'm so paranoid about everything now ever since I heard about what happened to Reyna while she was staying at Bonez's place. 

"I, uh.. I found it in my room. I don't know how, I don't know when they got in my room." She finally responds then takes a deep breath.

"When did you find it?" The note had her name on it, including a picture of her walking towards her house.

"Last week."

"LAST WEEK?!" I yell. "Why didn't you mention this to me? To anyone?" 

"I-I was scared, but I also thought it didn't mean anything." She shrugs.

I fling the note in her face. "People taking pictures of you and invading your privacy is normal?" I'm still angry at this and her thinking it meant nothing pisses me off more. 

She snatches the note out of her face. "Why are you here anyway?" 

"Because I'm not as childish as you, ignoring your best friend because of a stupid boy. Grow up, Audrey. It's really not that serious."

"You were flirting with him in front of everyone when you know I was checking him out. That's foul." 

"Foul? It was all him!" I shake my head at her. "Fighting over boys was never my thing and it's not going to start being one either." I snatch the letter from her hand and leave with it. 

I really don't have the time to argue about why Alex was pushing up on me. What we rally need to be worrying about is who keeps invading our privacy by entering our homes and threatening us.

ROBYN

I neatly and carefully place the copies of the records back in the safe and lock it. 

I start to tidy up around the office a little and throw away loose pieces of paper that weren't used. I finally finished the records for this year and we're having a great year so far. The best actually. 

One of the folders are still lying around. I reopen the safe and put the folder in it's correct order. Another piece of paper fell out. 

It's a red heart shaped piece of paper. 

The note read, I always thought you were special and so fragile. And I was right, wasn't I? Sorry, but I have other things I need take care of. 

 Is this King playing with me? Was he leaving to go somewhere? Was this his way of telling me?

At the end of the letter it was signed, To my little Robyn Hood.  

Shit.
