Three days later...
REMI
I finish folding my clothes and begin to neatly place them in the drawers one by one. I am still living with King's family. It's not bad at all and they're really nice. But I cannot wait until we get our own home. We're supposedly going house shopping tomorrow, so I hope we find a nice house to settle in.
My phone blares through the quiet room. It's Audrey, I smile almost immediately.
"REMI!" She screams through the phone as I hold it away from my face. "Where have you been, Chica?"
I chuckle. "I've been here. What's up?"
"You've been here? But you never bothered to text or call me? Oh, okay..."
"I've been really distracted. So I'm sorry, crybaby." It is true. I haven't called or texted anyone lately, not even Travis. Now I am missing the both of them. I have received text messages from the both of them, but I just never got to reply to them.
"Mhm.. I bet. How's everything?" She asks.
I exhale. "Everything's cool, I guess. Falling back into place. I'm at King's family's house, hopefully I won't be here too long."
"Come stay with me then. You know you're welcomed."
"Audrey, you live with three generations of your family." We both laugh but it's true. She lives with too many people. I think part of the reason is that they allow and invite too many people and make them feel to comfortable and they never end up leaving.
Not a bad thing, but not necessarily a great thing either.
"But hey, what are you doing today? I need something to do."
"Nothing major. What do you want to do?"
"Anything. Doesn't matter." I shrug as if she can see me.
"Cool. Then we'll go to IHOP or Bob Evans for breakfast. I'm hungry." We hang up and I grab a towel and head for the shower. I bring my phone with me and proceed to send Travis a text on the way to the bathroom.
Hey, what's up?
I open the bathroom door and Alex, the youngest brother in the family opens it from the inside also.
He's not wearing anything but a towel around his waist. There are still water droplets cascading down his muscular chest.
"Excuse me, miss." He says looking down at me and smirking. I guess he caught me staring. Oops.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Yeah, it's cool." My places his hand on my shoulder while I step aside and allow him to walk out of the bathroom.
I hurriedly lock the bathroom door and I hear Alex chuckling. I hurry and take a shower so I can get ready and leave. I'm so happy we had the chance to take everything out of the apartment including our clothes so I don't have to worry about borrowing stranger's clothing.
The weather is still good so I get dressed in a short flowy light blue dress and pair of white strappy sandals along with white and gold jewelry.
And since I've been looking like the walking dead lately, I apply a little bit of make-up to bring out the features of my face.
The doorbell chimes and I assume its Audrey.
I run to the door and Audrey beams at me. "Remi! What's up? You look so gorgeous, girly!"
Leave it to her to exaggerate everything. I thank her for the compliment.
No one else is in the house except Alex so I tell him I'm leaving. He nods and I notice Audrey eyeing him. I'll bring that up later.
