Dancing in the Rain

We stopped for a bathroom break along the way at my Aunt's house. As we were leaving the house they wanted to show me some more of the stickers they had printed. My mom, dad and siblings left to get everything back into the car. After I had everything they gave me I left to go get into the car.

Once we arrived we had to park quite a ways away as the place was pretty packed. I waited for my boyfriend Ian to arrive so that we could walk around together. Ian was one of the most caring and thoughtful people I've ever met. He was towered over me with his muscular body and blonde hair. My favorite thing about him was his beard. He and his friends arrived a couple of minutes after we did.

I wasted to time to jump into his arms and kiss him on the cheek which I often did and it made him mad as I could've kissed him on the lips. We got ready for the whole tour of Chernobyl. I had already know a lot about it because of Sam and Colby and the series they did there. But it was really cool to see Ian nerd out from all of the science and engineering stuff. As those were his two favorite subjects in school. Some of the stuff I didn't understand and he bent down to my ear to explain it. Chernobyl was a nuclear accident that at the reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It is considered the worst nuclear disaster in history both in cost and casualties. That was the part I understood.

Once we walked around which didn't feel as long as I thought it would. Ian and I headed for the main building or the "gift shop". We walked around for a little but because he wanted to get me something, he gave up when I told him I didn't need anything and he couldn't find anything.

"You don't need to get me anything you know. " I spoke up after a couple of minutes of him searching.

"I know but I want to find something for you. Maybe to wear like a shirt or a jacket. " Ian commented.

"You just look defeated that you can't get me anything. " I observed as I hugged his waist and he kissed the top of my head.

"It's okay. Maybe let's look over here incase there's more over here." He said as he untangled me from his waist and took my hand in his and led the way. We walked into what looked like the backroom as they were starting to set up little houses for Christmas. We walked around for about 5 minutes before we realized there was nothing back here. As we made our way back to the front, a man was pulling a blue curtain to stop people from going in there. We slipped out through the side of the curtain before the man could notice that were back there. We waited for his friends to finish doing whatever they were doing.

We were leaving and as I was really tried, Ian took it upon himself to piggyback me to his car so we could go to his house but it was down pouring by the time we left. He gently pulled me to his chest and whispered that we would have to run to the car so that we would get the minimum amount of rain on us.

We opened the doors and realized that we were one of the last people in there. He took my hand in his and we started running as fast as we could. He does weight lifting and I do cross country, making it a lot easier for me to run to the car but he was tired after the first step so slowed down making sure to not let our hands come apart. He ran faster dropping my hand to get to my door before I could. I grabbed out my phone and recorded a video of us running through the rain because I knew that he is my soulmate. And that video could possibly be played at our wedding or when we show the kids our good ole days. Ian didn't know I took the video he ran to the passenger side and opened the door so that I could just run and jump in. He quickly closed the door once I was in and ran around to his side to escape the rain. The sun was setting which was beautiful to watch as we drove back to his house.

I was hoping maybe he would stop on the way to his house so we could watch the sunset. To my surprise he read the room or car technically and stopped so that we could watch the sunset. After, the sun had set it got dark fairly quickly and he told me put on some music so that it wouldn't be so quiet in the car. I put on his playlist because I knew he wouldn't like to listen to mine.

"Ella why did you put on my playlist? Play yours." He questioned.

"I just didn't think you would want to listen to One Direction or Why Don't We all the way back to your house. Plus your music is fine, I don't mind" I said looking down.

He lifted my chin and told me, "play your music baby, I don't mind either."

"But I never get to hear the big strong buff guys music," I said as I gently attempted to get my small hand his muscle to pinch it. But he beat me and stopped my hand by taking it in his and kissing it. I playfully pouted as he laughed.

It was about an hour later and I had fallen asleep to his boring music. Even though I was asleep I could feel his hand on my thigh as he moved his thumb back and forth on it. I woke up no long after he had made a turn that shifted me in my seat. He apologized for waking me up since I was his sleeping beauty.

"Now can we change the music to our playlist, this other stuff is making me and clearly you fall asleep." He said.

I grabbed his phone and found our playlist, which was a picture of Noah and Allie from The Notebook, all the other ones were whatever the artist had made as the cover art. I clicked on it and my favorite song played but he didn't know that, I thought.

"Can we play this at our wedding?" He asked confidently.

"Why?" I asked blushing at the thought of us getting married.

"It's your favorite isn't it?" He spoke.

I was shocked that he knew it was my favorite song. "How did you know this was my favorite song?" I asked. "I never told you that was my favorite."

"I noticed that everytime it plays your face lights up and it doesn't do it for any other song." Ian said.

I kissed him on the lips as, Cherry Wine (Live) by Hozier played through the speakers. Making the moment one of my core memories with him.
