'Ella'

"Come on Els, wake up" I hear my dad's gentle voice and the gentle rubbing of my hair, waking me up from my slumber.

"Dadddd" I groan, flopping onto my back. "You interrupted a dream!" I moan.

"Aww, I'm sorry hunny but you need to go to school" He sings out as he walks to the wardrobe and gets out my school uniform.

The last week has been a little crazy, I've been keeping my head down in school.

The reason for this was because everyone knew, all the teachers. And behind closed doors I was very worried and not doing great mentally but at school I kept my head down, did my work and only talked to Micky, Noah and Luke.

I still had to meet with Miss Bright every so often. And today I had to show her the book.

Now the book was interesting it definitely had many tear drops on. I had used about 5 pages and it was constant writing but every so often I had got angry and pressed hard, making holes in the paper.

The boys and my dad had been by my side most of time. I had never been left alone, my dad woke me up and the boys soothed me to sleep every day. Way to protective to my liking.

"Come on buttercup" My dad coos once again.

"You haven't called me that since I was about 5" I chuckle softly, he walks round the bed and gently sits me up.

"I know but it's cute" He gently pokes my dimple on my left cheek. "Get up, I'll make breakfast"

I do as he says and drag myself out of bed. By the time I was ready, my dad was calling me to hurry up. Taking one final look at the notepad, I stuff it in my handbag before putting it on my shoulder before running down the stairs. A few boxes were here and there, from when we moved in.

"I'm ready, you don't have to scream at me" I roll my eyes at my dad, from when he was screaming up the stairs at me.

"Sorry hunny, I just have a really important meeting and can't be late at all" He explains, serving the breakfast as I grab a couple of drinks for the pair of us.

"I'm sorry" I laugh slightly.

"Don't apologise" He kisses the top of my head a couple of times before sitting opposite me and digging into his breakfast as I do the same.

"Dad, I wanted to talk about something with you..." I mumble, picking at my food.

"What is it sweetheart?" He asks me.

"I-i...do you miss mum?" I sallow a lump in my throat before asking the question that has been on my mind constantly.

"No" He says shortly. "I loved your mum a lot but as soon as I found out she had hurt you, I hated her. I don't miss her at all, you're my priority now" He smiles, taking hold of my hand that was resting on the table. "Where did this come from?"

"I just," I pause, thinking for a moment before continuing. "I just need to give that notepad to Miss Bright today and I have written a lot about the divorce so I just wanted to ask that before I give it over" I admit, twisting a ring with one hand.

"Baby, you have nothing to worry about. The divorce is done, mum is in prison, you have nothing to worry about, please just focus on your school work and your mental health ok?" He rubs his thumb across my hand.

"Thank you dad" I smile, wiping at my eyes to get rid of the tears that were forming.

"El, I'm your dad. I'm always going to be here for you" He tells me, standing up and taking both of our plates. He kisses my head before walking over to the sink. "But, as much as I love you, I have to go to work and you have to go to school so lets get going" He chuckles slightly, making me laugh as well.
