~six years later~
'Ella'
"Flint" I yell up the stairs, trying to rock one of our new-born babies to sleep. "Please, come here"
He comes running down the stairs, a burping cloth other his shoulder.
"They are both crying, they won't stop and Luke, Micky, Noah and my dad will be here soon, please help" I cry, my own tears falling from my eyes.
"Okay, calm. Sit down with Willow, and I'll sort Oakley." Flint leads me over to the sofa, while I exhale continuing to rock my crying Willow. Flint picks Oakley up, joining me on the sofa, putting one arm around my shoulder, rubbing small circles on it.
"Please girls, please" I whisper. "You don't want to upset your uncles"
"It's okay, babies cry, it's normal" Flint tells me, rocking Oakley in his arms.
"I know, it just stresses me out." I groan, throwing my head back and looking at the ceiling.
Slowly and surely, Oakley and Willow calm down and fall asleep in our arms.
"Did you take your pills?" Flint asks, playing with the ends of my hair.
"Oh no, I forgot" I panic, looking around the room, wondering were they were. Our living room was a mess, having two week old newborns wasn't easy.
"Baby, don't panic, it's okay. I'll go find them." Flint gently kisses my head before placing Oakley in one of our moses' baskets. He comes back to me, picking Willow up and putting her down too. He comes back once again, and notices I'm panicking. He gently takes my hands and rests them behind my head. "Hey" He whispers, making me gain eye contact. "You're okay, I'm going to get your pills, stay here" He kisses my nose softly before walking out the room.
Eyes blurry, ears ringing, babies crying again.
I can't do this.
My breathing hurts.
Dad.
Noah.
Luke.
Micky.
Flint.
Help. It hurts. It hurts.
"Ella" I can't hear much, but I hear this.
Blurry figures appear before I'm lifted into strong muscular arms and carried.
"It's okay babe, breathe" I hear softly in my ear before I'm placed on a soft landing. A comfort comes over me, up to my neck.
My eyes clear up, now I can see Flint and Luke kneeling beside me.
"There she is" Luke whispers, his hand gently on my arm.
"Hey" Flint whispers, leaning down and kissing my forehead. "Can you hear me?"
I nod gently. "Oakley and Willow" I mumble.
"They're okay, Els" Luke tells me, rubbing my back.
"Ella, did you sleep last night? I didn't wake up." Flint asks, running his fingers through my hair.
"Willow and Oakley cried a lot. It woke me up at like twelve pm, I had to feed both of them, they fell asleep but, I was in a lot of pain and couldn't" I explained, bringing my hands to my face wiping my tears.
"You should wake me honey" Flint whispers, kissing my forehead. "Get some sleep baby"
"Ok"
I feel asleep surrounded by my family.
With no thoughts of my past.
