Is it in the office waiting for the hypnotist to come in to help Spencer. I wrap my arms around him and kiss his temple. "Everything is going to be alright." I whisper. Finally the woman walks in. "Uh thank you for seeing us on such short notice." Spence greets her as she sits down.
"Well I'm always happy to assist the FBI." She smiles. "Is there a witness you want me to look at?" She asks. "Uh, Yeah, uh, Me. I'm trying to recover memories from my childhood. There was a murder." Spencer states fiddling with his hands. "How long ago are we talking?" The woman asks.
"I was four." He says. "Ah. Memories from that age can be hard to enter." She tells us. "I'm aware of the limitations of hypnotherapy." Spence tells her. "Well then you're aware of suggestion issues. If you were to have looked into the case you maybe have a bias." She continues.
"So you're telling me what he sees under hypnosis might not be real?" I ask worried. "Its a possibility, either way it's a test alliance in court." She states. "We won't be using this for work purposes, it's more of a personal matter." Spencer corrects her. "The suppressed memories are about my father." He smiles weakly.
"I'd like to monitor this session, just to make sure you get into the right space." I state gripping Spencer's hand to comfort him. "You want to sit in?" She asks surprised. I nod and she sighs. "I don't normally allow that." She tells me. "Well incase you haven't realised, nothing about this is normal." I say smugly.
We stand up and Spencer lays down on the couch and closes his eyes. "Now I want you to hold onto my wrist with you left hand and if you are to feel any fear I want you to squeeze. Okay?" She asks. "Yes." Spencer replies.
"Go back to the night you were telling me about. You were at home in your room." She starts. "You can't sleep because your parents are arguing." She continues. I see Spencer's facial expression change. "He's coming in." He whispers. "Who?" She asks.
"Dad." Spencer whimpers. "What about him Spencer?" She asks. "What is he doing?" She asks. I see his lip starts to quiver as he panics and starts to cry. "I- I don't wanna be here." He pleads. "It's okay. It's okay Spencer. I'm here honey. I'm here." I soothe stroking his soft curls.
"Take us to where the light is, to the next morning." She asks him. "The sun is coming up, where are you Spencer?" She asks. I see his brows furrow before he relaxes. "Mom." He smiles. "My mom, she's at the window. She's been crying." He says confused.
His lips move as he tries to speak. "She saw him." He whispers. "Who? Your father?" She asks causing him to shake his head unsure. "Do you talk to her?" She asks him and he shakes his head again. "No, no, I wanna see." He states.
I see Spencer start to panic and he grips the hypnotist's wrist tightly. I run my hand through his curls again soothingly. "What is it spencer?" She asks trying to loosen his tight grip. "What are you seeing?!" She asks again. "That's enough!" I panic.
"I need you to leave this location now spencer!" She begs. "Damn it wake him up!" I yell as Spencer thrashes about. "I'm going to count backward from five! Five, four, three, two, one!" She counts and his eyes shoot open.
He lets go of her wrist and cries thrashing about. "Spencer! Hey hey! It's okay, it's okay! It's okay. It's okay. What happened?" I ask gently taking him into my chest. I sit him on my lap and cuddle him. "What did you see?" I ask as he pants trying to calm down. I kiss his head. "I don't wanna talk about it yet." He whimpers and snuggles into me. I nod and soothe him the best I can.
