"Director, are you sure this will work?" I ask worried. "I hope so." Nick Fury sighs. "It's strange to think that he knew my grandma." I chuckle. "Oh?" Fury raises his eyebrow. "Don't humour me Nick." I chuckle. "Of course. How could I forget? You're the spitting image of her." He laughs.

"Maybe it's best I be one of the last people he meets. My appearance may alarm him." I suggest. "I agree. However, I hope it doesn't come to that. This should work. Well ease him into the truth slowly." Nick tells me.

"Director, he's waking up." An Agent tells us. We look through a window and see Captain Rogers waiting up. He looks about confused and sits up. He slowly turns his head to face the radio we placed in his room, which is playing an audio from a football match from the 1940's.

One of our agents has been ordered to dress from the 1940's and act from that time period to help Captain Rogers settle in. She enters with a smile on her face. "Good morning. Or should I say afternoon." She chuckles. Rogers still continues to look around confused.

"Where am I?" He demands staring at the Agent. "You're in a recovery room in New York City." She tells him with a soft smile. He looks around the room but pauses for a while. He looks like he's listening to the radio. "Where am I really?" He asks annoyed.

"Shit." I curse. "He's not buying it." I stress. "Don't worry Agent Carter. We have this under control." Fury nods at me. We turn back to the scene in front of us and see the agent is beginning to panic. "I'm afraid I don't understand." She smiles politely.

"The game. It's from May 1941. I know because I was there." The Captain growls. He stands up and I see the agent look afraid. "Now I'm gonna ask you again, where am I?" He demands. I see the agent press the button on the remote in hand, which signals for help. "Captain Rogers..." She tries. "Who are you?!" He shouts.

"Everyone get ready." I order and a few agents run off preparing for the worst. I'm going to be last to leave, I need to keep an eye on him. "Fury, I'll handle it from here." I nod.

Agents enter the room to protect the other agent. The Captain looks at them angered and throws them into the wall, which leads to the wall breaking. He runs out of it and I run after him. He stops and looks around the room scared.

"Captain Rogers Wait!" I yell. He turns and spots me. His eyes widen and he continues to run. "All agents code 13!" I yell into my radio as I run after the Captain.

He runs through the lobby, bumping into lots of people on his way. He stumbles out of the door and into the streets. I dart after him trying to catch him. "Damn it!" I curse, as I just miss him. Then Fury pulls up next to me. "Get in!" He yells. I jump into the car and we chase after the Captain.

Finally, we surround him in Time Square. "At ease, Soldier!" Fury yells as he gets out and stands in front of the Captain. "Look, I'm sorry about that little show back there, but we thought it best to break it to you slowly." Fury tells him.

The Captain looks around terrified of his new surroundings. "Break what?" He pants. "You've been asleep Cap, for almost seventy years." Fury tells him. His eyes widen and he looks around. I sigh and get out of the car, standing behind the door.

"You gonna be okay?" Fury asks. "Yeah, Yeah it's just- I had a date." He says and stares at me. Fury chuckles and turns to me. He nods at me and I walk over to them. "Director." I nod. "Peggy?" The Captain whispers.

"Captain, this is Agent Y/n Carter. She's co director." Fury introduces me. "It's an honour, Captain." I smile softly. He stares at me and his eyes well with tears. "I told you, I should have been last to see him. It's too much for him." I growl at Fury.

"N-no it's fine." Rogers tells me. "My grandma spoke very highly of you." I chuckle. "Peggy?" He asks, earning a nod. "Agent Carter, I'm giving you the duty of helping the Captain adjust to society." Fury nods. "Of course." I smile.

"I'm sorry if this sound very strange, and inappropriate, but may I h-hug you?" He whispers, staring at me. "In a minute, let's get you somewhere more private." I smile. I wrap my arm around him and lead him to the SUV.

"You'll be staying with me, just until we get you somewhere to live." I smile as he gets ready to climb into the SUV. I turn and nod at Nick as he drives to S.H.E.I.L.D.

However, I turn around just at the wrong time as Rogers climbs into the SUV. "Wow that really is America's ass." I mutter smirking. "Did you say something?" Rogers asks as he sits down. "No, nothing to worry about." I chuckle. He nods. I climb into the SUV and sit next to Rogers.

"Captain, I understand this is all new and difficult but I'm going to be here for you every step of the way." I remind him. He stares at me and a tear rolls down his cheek. "You're identical to her." He whispers.

"I get that a lot." I chuckle. He stares at me sad. "Come here." I coo and pull him into my chest. He wraps his arms around me and nuzzles into my neck. "I've got you." I whisper. "Don't call me Captain, call me Steve." He whispers.

"Alright, Steve." I grin.
