"Puddin?" I whisper, as me and Joker lie on our bed. "Yes Princess?" He rasps, his voice sounding tired as he lays with his eyes closed. "Can I ask a question?" I ask meekly. His eyes crack open and he looks at me. "That depends baby doll." He smirks.

"What's your name?" I whisper, scared of his reaction. "And why would you want to know that?" He rolls his eyes. I roll over and rest my head on his chest, tracing one of his tattoos. "Well it's just you know my name but I don't know yours. I kinda wanna know before we get married Puddin." I chuckle.

"My story isn't a pretty one doll." He sighs and closes his eyes again. "It can't be that bad." I whisper and kiss his jaw. "You'd be surprised. It's all because I had a dream." He whispers dazed. "Tell me. Pretty pretty pretty pretty please..." I beg.

"Well, Princess, I used to work at the chemical plant that we went to. I was sick of the job so I quit. My family needed money but I couldn't give them it." He whispers. "Your family?" I ask shocked. "My wife and unborn child." He utters. I pull him close and grab his hand.

"I wanted to be a comedian. I went for many jobs but never heard back from any. I always panicked and gave a trashy one liner. We were struggling and living in a run down apartment and my wife was six months along." He closed his eyes and looks away. "Puddin. It's alright. You don't have to finish the story." I soothe and kiss his hand.

"It's fine. People came to me offering me a job. They knew I used to work in the chemical plant and they needed access. They said if I dressed in a costume provided they'd pay me. A million bucks they promised." He laughs, as he traces patterns on my back.

"The day I was meant to do it the police came to me and told me my wife was killed in a fire. Our apartment set alight and she died. As did my child." He whispers and a tear rolls down his cheek. "Oh J..." I sob quietly. "Don't you dare cry for me. It was years ago. I've moved on." He begs.

"I tried to back out of the job but they wouldn't let me. I had no choice. I snuck them in but we got caught. Then Batsy turned up. I couldn't see because of my mask and I tripped. I fell into the chemicals. I became this..." He gestured to himself.

By this point I'm full on sobbing and he cries silently. "Oh baby..." I sob as I cling to him. "From that day Jack was no more." He growls. "Jack?" I whisper looking up at him. "Yes." He stares at me. "Jack..." I play with how it rolls off my tongue. "Don't get used to it." He grunts.

"My Jack." I whisper and cup his jaw. His breath hitches and he turns his head to me. "I haven't heard my name in a long long time." He rasps. "Glad to be if service." I giggle.
