Y/n awoke with a hand around his throat. His eyes widened as he grabbed the person's wrist. Without a second thought, he flipped them over and restrained him.

He glared down at the man below him and frowned heavily. The person thrashed around beneath him and tried to escape Y/n's grasp. Unfortunately, Y/N had gone through extensive training to handle situations like this.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my room?" he asked.

"Your room? You're the Human in Elven territory. As far as I'm aware, you don't live in the royal palace," the person spat.

"You don't seem like someone who lives in the royal palace either," Y/n argued.

"Ooo, you're smart. I always knew you were a special one," the person laughed, "You're right, I don't live here. I had heard that someone staying here was looking for me, though."

He took a moment to look this intruder over. He had soft, mischievous features with fluffy brown hair. He was another Elf, although much more casual than the others. There was one person who came to mind who fit this description.

"You're the thief I was sent to catch! You sneaky bastard! Why would you come straight to me!?" Y/n exclaimed.

"Why wouldn't I? You're quite the spectacle in the Elven Forest, you know that, don't you?" the thief asked.

"What? Just because I waltzed in here without permission?" he scoffed and shook his head.

"Of course not. What else would it be other than your armor? I bet you don't even know what it means," the thief laughed, "I could tell you what it means, you know. As long as you let me go."

"No, I can't let you go," Y/n glared down at him, "You're the reason I'm in this mess in the first place! Not only must I turn you into the king, but I must also make sure you're punished properly!"

"How unfortunate," he paused, "And here I thought we would get along. Just like the old days."

Y/n faltered for a moment at the comment and was quickly flipped over. The thief was now in the position of power. He blinked a couple of times in an attempt to process what the thief had said. Why does everyone know me? Y/n asked himself as he heard the door open.

"Y/n, how are you holding," Hyunjin stopped as he examined the scene in front of him. His expression went from a calm, caring one to an angry one as he stormed towards the bed, "Seungmin! What do you think you're doing! You know this is my esteemed guest and yet you still violate him!"

Hyunjin pulled Seungmin off of Y/n and he shook his head as he sat up, "You know this man Hyunjin?"

"Of course I do. This man is one of my personal guards. I deeply apologize for his behavior," he bowed deeply then pulled Seungmin out of the room by his ear. Y/n was too stunned to speak.

"But he.." Y/n trailed off. He shook his head gently and climbed out of bed.

He had many questions and no answers. He wasn't sure how he would approach the situation. Now that he knew the name and position of the thief, he could report it back to the king to have him contact the Elves themselves. Y/n could also bring it up with Hyunjin and see if he had any answers. Although, he wasn't too sure if he wanted to hear those answers.

With a quick examination of the room, he found where Seungmin had climbed in. He walked over to the open window and looked outside. The room he was in was one of the highest spots in the forest. Despite that, he examined the wall beneath the window. In the wall were notches where Seungmin could've stuck a blade in to climb up. From what Y/n could see, the notches ended at a window just below his.

"Y/n, what are you doing out of bed? Are you feeling alright? Do I need to bring you anything?" Hyunjin asked as he walked over to him.

"I need to write a letter," he turned to face Hyunjin. His expression was unpleasant.

"Who are you going to write a letter to? Is it concerning your condition?" he asked.

Y/n's frown deepened at the questions and said, "You ask too many questions. Now please, bring me paper and ink."

Hyunjin's expression fell at his words. He shook his head and looked down at the ground as he said quietly, "I cannot bring you that."

"Why not?" Y/n asked, "Don't tell me my presence here was planned. Surely you didn't plan this, did you?"

"Of course I didn't! As I've said in the past, I do not want you to come here against your will. Although unfortunate that the circumstances that you've arrived with have you here against it, it is still something I cannot provide."

"Why not," Y/n repeated.

"It's part of your punishment according to the council," Hyunjin's voice was shaking, "I didn't plan any of this. Please, trust me."

"So, what you're telling me, is that you don't know that your low life guard, Seungmin, is the thief that I'm here for?" His tone was softer this time.

"No, I did not know that. I will be sure that he is punished accordingly," he went to leave but Y/n stopped him by grabbing his wrist.

"I have more questions for you that I need answers for, otherwise I may never consider returning," his breathing was heavy while Hyunjin's was shaky.

"What more do you want?" he asked quietly.

"Tell me," he paused, considering his options before continuing, "Tell me what the armor means. Seungmin mentioned that I've gained quite the audience because of it," he paused the gauge Hyunjin's shocked reaction, "It's more than your affections, isn't it?"

"Please allow me to sit," Hyunjin whispered, "I don't know how much longer I'll be able to stand like this."

Y/n nodded and kept his hold as he led Hyunjin to the bed to sit. He continued to stand in front of him. He watched as Hyunjin took a couple deep breaths. Y/n's emotions were complicated as he watched him. He was afraid to hear the prince's answer, but also excited and curious.

"The armor.." he trailed off, "The armor is a-"

"Your majesty!" a guard ran into the room. The door slammed against the wall and Y/n winced, "We need to get you and Y/n to safety! The Elven Forest is being invaded!"
