"I know you're in there! Your magic roots were pretty impressive, but I saw right through them. So, do better." A familiar voice called out from outside the tent.

Y/n knew that they were now outside the entrance to those Faeries home, but he also knew who had gone inside said home. His eyes widened slightly with mild shock. How had they made it out of the cursed forest?

A figure rushed into the tent. Y/n could immediately tell that it was Han. It was a given from the way he called out. Their eyes met and never left each other's. He rushed up to Y/n and began to examine him with his eyes. He squirmed a bit under his intense scrutiny, but otherwise stayed still as it still hurt to move.

"Are you alright? How did you make it out of the forest? Was it difficult finding them?" He took his bandaged hand in his and examined it carefully. There was a heavy pause that sat between the two as Han slowly looked up at his face. "You got hurt and you didn't call for help?"

Y/n tensed in his hold. Han sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "I told you to call for me and I would help you, yet you're here, injured on a bed in a tent with the person you were meant to find! You're not as strong as you think and it's about time that someone says it."

"How dare you barge in here and start lecturing Y/n! He almost died!" Hyunjin pulled Han away from Y/n.

"And I saved him! He wouldn't be here without me. You wouldn't be here without me. So don't start bossing me around as if I mean nothing to this war." His jaw clenched as he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell like that. The Fae were just a little annoying."

"When are they not?" Felix laughed.

Han shook his head and pointed at Felix while his body shook with silent laughter. "See? He gets it." Y/n didn't get it.

Hyunjin turned away with a huff. Han rolled his eyes. Y/n pulled his hand out of Han's and jumped up. He winced as he made contact with the floor, but succeeded at hiding it from the two helicopter moms. Everyone turned to look at him.

"Both of you need to shut the hell up." Y/n groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I cannot stand both of you fighting like this! My injuries and near death experiences won't matter if we lose this war! It's either we start moving or we die. Which do you choose?" He looked between the two. "Because I'm going to choose to start moving."

Without another word, he exited the tent. Outside he found Chan and Arthemius. He only glanced at the two before storming off in the direction of the Ogre's Plateau. Angry or not, he needed to return to the Elven Forest, and the safest way to do so was through their territory.

Hurried footsteps and shouts followed him, but he began running. All he could hear was the blood rushing through his pounding heart. He pushed the pain down as best he could as he sprinted up the stairs two at a time. Nothing mattered anymore. Hyunjin was safe. Now that he knew that along with how much of a catalyst he was, he needn't wait for the rest of his party to catch up.

As long as he could stay ahead of the enemy, as long as he kept moving, as long as he kept fighting...nothing could touch him. Not his feelings, not his pain, not his personal conflicts, not his desperation to have died back when he killed the Dwarven magic user. He slowed for mere moments before running faster. Y/n didn't have time for himself, not when he had others to save.

This war wasn't about him, it was about them. All the innocent people who've suddenly become subject to the most brutal war in the world's history. The young woman Felix had fallen for. Han's present day. The Elven Kingdom. The Human Kingdom. Their future.

The more time he wasted the more he risked that future. He risked thousands of lives. The world sat on his shoulders and there was nothing he could do to change it. There was nothing anyone could do to relieve the pain of turning the war around. Nothing could be done to change his fate.
