Hyunjin paced the length of the tent Felix had been staying in while chewing on his finger. Y/n remained unconscious, but breathing, on a cot in the center of the tent. How did he let himself get into this bad of a condition? I knew I shouldn't have left him. This is all my fault.

Hyunjin sighed and finally sat on a crate of supplies. Felix was out getting medical supplies so he had no one to express his anxiety to. Even if Y/n were to awaken, he wouldn't dare speak of himself when he isn't the one who was found bloody and unconscious.

His eyes fell onto Y/n's bandaged hand. When he first saw the injury, he couldn't believe it. How did a cut like that end up on his hand? Hyunjin only had his imagination to tell him and it wasn't pretty. He switched the finger he was chewing on since the first one had started hurting.

Y/n whimpered quietly from the bed and Hyunjin immediately stood and joined his side. He took Y/n's uninjured hand in his and pressed it against his forehead. He had started wishing that he had learned healing magic in place of the plant magic he wasted his whole life learning.

"Gods, I just can't imagine what you're going through Y/n. I wish I could crawl into your brain and curl up there to soak up all of your pain and sorrow." Hyunjin bravely, but hesitantly placed a chaste kiss on the back of Y/n's hand, "When you awake, I want to know about everything that happened while I was away. I want to know how I can help you. I want to know and provide what you need."

Y/n's breath staggered as his hand moved between Hyunjin's. Hyunjin watched Y/n's face contort in what he assumed to be pain as he sat up. His heartbeat pounded in his ears. He watched on as Y/n took in his surroundings.

He waited a few moments before tightening his hold on Y/n's hand and asking, "How are you feeling? Does anything hurt? Do you need anything?"

Y/n looked over at Hyunjin and stared at him for a few moments before looking away, as if he was afraid to look at him. Hyunjin frowned, but said nothing as he awaited Y/n's reply.

"I'm fine. Nothing hurts except my stomach." He paused, "I need you to let go of my hand," Hyunjin released his hand swiftly, "and I need food. I haven't eaten in a couple days. Maybe longer, I can't remember."

His eyes widened at the statement as he gasped, "A couple days? Maybe longer? Why haven't you been eating!?"

Y/n winced when Hyunjin's voice raised and he immediately apologized before grabbing some bread and handing it to him. "I've been too busy fighting to eat." Hyunjin's face contorted into even more panic as Y/n continued, "I mean, it's difficult to take care of yourself when you're too busy cutting down an army of Werewolves while also fending off angry Ogres."

"Angry Ogres? Why were they angry?"

"Oh," Y/n laughed as he took a bite out of the bread, "I cut their general's arm off to get information on your location."

"You what?"

"Yeah, and before that I killed that powerful Dwarven witch. Almost died, Han saved me, then we went and angered the Ogres."

Almost died? Hyunjin's chest felt tight as he took a step back. "Almost died?" He repeated aloud, "You almost died?"

"It was poisoned thorns," Y/n paused as he took another bite of his bread, "and thousands of them. Not to mention when you found me. I'm sure I was dying of starvation then."

His mouth fell open as his eyes welled with tears. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Of course, he only had his imagination to rely on, and his imagination wasn't nice. All he could think of was how Y/n had been poisoned by thousands of thorns or what he looked like while he was dying or how he looked in battle with the Werewolves, even worse, after the battle. A tear finally slid down his cheek as he sat on a crate.
