"Perhaps someday the revelation will burst in upon me and I will see the other side of this monumental grotesque joke. And then I'll laugh. And then I'll know what life is"

Is it possible to be so entranced in the premise of living, that you lose sight of the negative aspects life has to offer?

If my thoughts were a science experiment, I would have a mixed array of opinions being put out. There would be some completely sorrowful, the so called empaths crying out that they feel my pain. And then there's the realists. The group I partially identify with, but at the same time, I resent.

They would take the most obscure notes. Most likely because they want to ensure that my mind is seen in the most abstract, and yet unrealistic form of accuracy possible.

To be more direct, I am more high off life than I have ever been.

Cherry and I have been spending more and more time with one another as the first few weeks of school had droned on. With our upcoming project due, we knew we had not a moment to spare.

However, today was the day that we broke our record of hanging out. The streak of doing task after task.

So while Cherry went off into the world, I occupied myself at the Curtis residence. Skimming through book after book to find any source of credible information, I knew I had to think fast. For in only a week or two, our project is due.

The sun was blaring onto the couch. As I stared directly at the sunlight, I was forced to look away like I lost a staring contest and was ashamed. My eyes then flickered from the window to the couch, which inevitably would lose its color even more with the sun damage.

Everything was peaceful and quiet, a moment that felt as if it could last forever.

But even the naive know that being content doesn't stay with us till we take our final breaths.

An onrush of noise could be heard from the doorframe. Rebecca peered up to see two boys. Sodapop and Steve, rushing inside with adrenaline coursing through their veins.

"No way, there's no way possible he can do it."

Rebecca paused her voice that was about to say hello, curious on what they could be talking about. However she never got an opportunity to ask her question. For the moment the golden boy was spun around to meet her gaze, he felt stuck. He was abrupt with the way he quickly rambled on to her.

"Rebecca... there's the gal I was looking for." He said.

Steve on the side, was completely lost. He has been around Soda for a duration of the day (besides school), and not once had he mentioned the girl.

Rebecca looked at him in a way that told him he could carry on. For that glint in her eye said everything. In fact, it had Sodapop almost lost as he swam through the open ocean that was inevitably, her.

"They've got a movie showing downtown, you and Pony wanna come?"

Looking relived to have a break from her schoolwork, she set her notebook to the side. "That sounds great actually, what do you say Pony?" She said, shifting her position to nudge the boy lost in a daze.

"Yeah, that sounds cool."

Soda almost looked like he was on his own personal high when we agreed. Smiling, he then nudged his own friend. "You in Randle?"

Steve scowled at first, but made a poor attempt at disguising it with a look I couldn't even identity.

"Can't, me an Evie have plans."

I wouldn't be surprised if Evie and Steve were going on another one of their outings. Evie has been gushing over Steve for months now, their relationship has now hit its peak.
