what a fool I am,
I'd lived alone all my life to avoid feeling like this.

I should have just trusted in my own way to the end.

I pick up the letter and money  I was supposed to give to "albedo" and threw it across the waters
I watch as many paper fall and drown in the depths of the seas, slowly sinking never to be found nor brought back again.

"You'll be drenched." Xiao says as he tries to keep up with you while carrying an umbrella

"As you can see, I'm in a getting drenched mood."

"Is that so.." Xiao replies, putting away his umbrella letting the rain drench his body and clothes copying your actions

You stop at your tracks looking at Xiao with a deadpan look on your face.
"You don't have to get drenched too you know."

"Well you see I am in a getting drenched mood."

You chuckle.

After a while of just walking around under the rain,
You decided to sit in a near bus stop
As you were drying your hair you felt yourself getting drowsy and leaned your head onto xiao's shoulders.

Xiao's Pov-
I watch the rain droplets slowly go away when suddenly I felt their head onto mine.

I froze for a while before deciding to look over them
They sleep so peacefully it made me wonder just how can a person who just sold their life away only for them to throw away the money they sold most of their lifetime for sleep like that,
But then again I'm not one to talk.

I stood up slowly and carried them in a bridal style, I looked around to find some hotel
luckily there was a hotel not far from where we are.
The rain has already stopped but we were still pretty much drenched.

I went there and went to get checked in hoping that it wouldn't be that expensive.

(Hotel bell thingy goes trrrr)

"Hello sir! what can I do for you at this late hour?"

"Give me your cheapest room please."

"Understood! we also have some free hair blow dryer down the public bathroom if you ever need to use it since it would seem that you both had been out in the rain for quite a while."

"I see, thank you."

As I grabbed the bedroom keys I realized just how light y/n is, it was pretty easy to just carry them around.

I went down the hallway and went to our room, I gently placed them on the bed.
I looked around the place,
The room looked old but no complaining here since I did ask for the cheapest one.

I stared at y/n for a bit deciding whether to wake them up or change their clothes without them knowing.

I decided to just do neither since I do like y/n sleeping face
while the other option just seems creepy and I don't have their consent.

I walk to the bathroom and turned on the showerhead.
After I finished showering I went to dry up and sat on the edge of the bed next to y/n.

I slowly went closer to them patting their head feeling the heat on their face hoping they didn't catch a cold
closing my eyes, I felt myself going on a daydream state.

Y/n pov:

I tiredly open my eyes.
Being awaken by the sound of water running, as my eyes scanned around the room I heard the sound of water stop.

I pretend to be asleep and slowly peaking at whoever just finished taking a bath, I could feel myself blushing at the sight of xiao having wet hair and just having a towel around to cover their body.
I try to compose myself as Xiao gets closer to me.
He's so close I could practically smell them, but to my surprise he pats my head comforting me a lot.

He seemed to whisper something but I couldn't hear it admist the loudness of the aircon.

As he pats my head I thought just how much he has helped me?
If he wasn't there would I even be this comfortable right now?
Just how much trouble did I cause him?

I shouldn't trouble him further.
He's just kind to me because I'm going to die soon, but that doesn't mean he has any affection for me.

I'll just die quietly.
like a cat I'll silently expire and in secret but, somehow I felt the urge to just spend the lifetime with him
