Taz stayed in Up's room again that night, they didn't want to be parted from each other after last nights events. Taz had butterflies all night and still managed to sleep through them all due to the fact that she was pressed closely to Up's chest all night.
Up awoke abruptly to loud banging on the door. Again? He thought. In desperate attempt to keep Taz asleep, he ran door the door.
"What is it this time? Do not tell me another teacher is drunk." Ms Saunders was bright red in the face and shaking.
"No Up! Not this time!"
"Well tell us what it is then!!!" Taz sneered from the background.
"Wait..what...Actually it doesn't matter." Several screams erupted from the corridors.
"THEY'VE BROKEN IN! THE ROBETS HAVE BROKEN IN!" Taz relaxed. It must be a dream and in a few minutes she would wake.
"What he said. You need to get dressed and armed, we need you to fight. You too, Taz. Are you ready to know what it truly means to be a starship ranger?"
Dis dream is incredibly real...
Next thing she knew, her and Up were gearing up.
"Are you okay? I know you've never fought Robots before and I'm telling you now its not easy." Taz just felt dizzy, sick and confused.
"Until I joined, I'd never even seen TV before and now I'm going to fight robots...I'm scared Up." Up walked over to her and took her hands.
"Don't be scared. You're Taz, the toughest, sexiest son of a bitch in this whole damn academy and I am not leaving your side." He lent down to kiss her, knowing how dangerous the robots were and knowing full well that either one of them could die during the fight.
"Wait, Up have you fought robots before?" She asked, remember what he'd said.
"That's a story i can tell you later but right now, we've gotta go save the academy. Come on." They charged out into the corridors to hear more shots and screams and saw several robots emerge from round the corner.
"UP! WHAT DO WE DO?" Up had already starting shooting at them so Taz assumed she should follow. As Taz wasn't very experienced with top power zappers, when she pulled the trigger, she stumbled back slightly as the power took her by surprise.
"Y'alright?" Up choked through breaths.
"Si" Taz felt a huge sense of pride when she managed to take down a robot, only 400 left to go. Taz and Up carried on, slowly making they're way to the hall whilst shooting down robots on the way. There were actually a lot less than Taz thought there would be but some seemed to put up more of a fight than others. By the time they had reached the hall, there were only about twenty left, half of which were being dealt with and the other half were beginning to notice the new comers and were edging their way towards the duo. Several severely wounded body's lay close to lifeless of the floor, causing Up to wince then get even more aggressive towards the robots, shouting and cursing at them for 'what they had done to his family'. As intruiged as Taz was, she was aware of the dozen robots surrounding them and was becoming increasingly worried as they were firing ruthlessly from every angle. Up on the other hand just fired every which way, taking down at least four or five. Taz tried to do the same it wasn't as good at precision so instead, she got as close to the robots as possible and fired as many as she could at point blank range.
"You puny humans do not think that you can conquer the iron forces, do you?" The remaining six or seven robots burst into choral mechanical laughter which soon gave Taz a headache.
"You sick bastards, you're all gonna die for this." Taz looked at Up who had fire in his eyes which was sort of strange cause his eyes were blue but super hot. Although it was sort of inconvient as they were in the middle of a fight but Taz was sort if turned on by his toughness. Bullets shot rapidly from his zapper and took down three robots. The other three noticed Taz standing in awe of Up and took the opportunity to corner her.
"Kill kill kill kill kill kill" it was as if the tape was stuck on repeat.
"¡TE VOY A MATAR AL HIJO DE PUTA!" Taz screamed as she vilolently shot a robot down, leaving just two left. Up had lost sight of Taz and began to panic until he heard her curing something g in Spanish. He spun round to see her shoot down a robot, leaving two ganging up on her.
"YOU BASTARDS. GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HER!" Up roared and punched a robot in the back of the head before it turned around to be shot in its metal chest. Just one more to go and they'd be done. Obviously it wasn't difficult for them to take down one robot - Taz shot from the back and Up from the front and it was dead within a minute or so.
Neither Taz nor Up quite knew what to do next so they just took each others hand and silently walked past many bodies (robot and human) as well as several nurses, students and teachers on their way to the medical ward. When they reached Up's room, Up lead Taz to the sofa, sat her down then went to the bathroom, soon returning with band aids and cleansers.
"I hate dose antiseptic things, all dey do is sting." Up laughed.
"Well I'm glad you're alive too Taz." She sighed, that was weird and although she thought she should have really hated it, she really enjoyed the feeling she got during the heat of battle.
"Sorry Up, today's just been a little strange. I thought I just have been dreaming but did time, I didn't wake up."
"Nope, today was all real. It was horrible though, don't you think? Oh and this may hurt a bit." Up took Taz's arm and began cleaning some wounds up.
"Ow...and well dey were horrible but I kind of liked fighting dem...OW!" she flinched.
"Sorry! Just hold still and it will be over in a minute. Wait - you liked fighting them? But they're evil metal-ass dicks!"
"I know dey are and dat's why I like killing dem. Hey, earlier you mentioned dat you had fought robots before and I was just wondering why?" Taz could practically see the memories in his eyes as he got up and sat next to her... Or were they tears? Both. Crawling onto his lap, she hugged him closely.
"Up, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to." She whispered softly. Up never cried. Ever.
"No, Taz. I want to tell you because you've been so open with me. Now it's my turn. I'm not so good at telling a long story clearly like you so um here goes. I was fifteen and I lived at home in Alabama with all my family but our town was attack by the robots. My dad was a starship ranger so he just threw a zapper at me, told me to point and shoot. So I did. Managed to save my sister but they died. I could have done more Taz. I could have saved them too." Up was seriously fighting back tears.
"...Up...you are so much more dan I thought. I can't believe dat you don't think you did enough! Think about what you've just told me."
"I dunno Taz, Lulu could be at home with Mom and Dad but instead she's in a care home and occasionally with our aunt."
"But I bet she loves you for saving her life." Up held Taz's waist a little closer.
"I guess. But that's why I hate the bastards so much." Taz smiled.
"Well, now I'm going to enjoy torturing dem even more." They both laughed and inevitably, they ended the night by watching the karate kid.
