"She never manipulated me like you believe. Elsa revealed every part of the story without defending her brother, and she was even ready to own Nathan's mistakes." Joshua said, standing by the door without entering my room.

"Are you done now?" I looked through the window towards nothing in particular.

I heard him sigh in disappointment, "I'll leave."

After that, I heard the door close, and I finally relaxed.

It has almost been a week since Elsa had left, no - since I kicked her out. There has been an empty void in my heart since then.

We were now back to ordering food from outside, and they 'don't like it' to say the least, but I know the truth - they all miss her.

She had become a part of their lives, a part of my life... but not anymore.

That's what I said to myself.

Hating someone had never been so difficult for me before. Even as I tried to remind myself that she is Nathan's sister, all that flashed before my eyes, was the way she took care of us, the way she looked through those doe eyes to make me act in her favour and the way she twirled her floral dress around like an angel.

I shook my head and stood up angrily, "She doesn't mean anything to me."

"Are you sure?"

I looked around and found the intruder, "Dennis?"

"Are you really sure that she doesn't mean anything to you?"

I inhaled deeply in frustration, "Not anymore."

He stared down at me, "Then why aren't you leaving this room? Why are you staring out of that window all day long? Why did your boss force you to take a few days off because of your constant zoning out? Levi, after all these, don't tell me that she doesn't mean anything to you." He walked towards me and placed a hand on my arm, "Because she does. No matter how much you lie to yourself, she still does mean a lot to you."

"Dennis - "

"Levi, don't forget that she brought light to this gloomy house. She finally remade this place a 'home' after Hannah left. We are all humans who make mistakes."

I remained silent.

"And you know what?" He calmly said, "People don't live with each other because they forget what they had done," He looked at me, "Instead, they live together because they forgive them."

I burst out crying, and Dennis hugged me, "I can understand your anger, but don't lose her, Levi. Go back to her."

"I can't," I shook my head.

"We all know that whatever Elsa had done did not mean any harm to us." He held me by the shoulders, "You are now left with two options; either stick with your pride or bring her back." He passed me a comforting smile, "She'll understand. She's our Elsa, after all."

"Are you sure?" I sniffed back my tears and wiped my face.

"I am," He ruffled my hair. "Sometimes, I really forget that you are elder than me." He joked.

It felt good to see this rare quirky side of Dennis.

"You better not," I smiled.
