"We'll meet my parents today, okay" the text on his phone screen read.
After a long wait and discussion later, you have finally convinced Seokjin, your boyfriend, to meet your parents. They liked him as the singer he was but they loved him for the person he was in actuality and so they wanted to meet him personally.
"Bring your boyfriend home sometimes. I'd like to meet him" your dad had said once you were at your parent's place to collect your clothes.
You've moved in with him as soon as he asked you to and both of you have been going strong ever since. He was that dream boyfriend anyone could ask for. He had every quality you lacked to be in a relationship so you were very glad to have him as your partner.
Your sister was his fan. A crazy one if you could and you'd always tease her for having him all to yourself. He enjoyed having your sister's and mother's company too but having to face your father was always a death zone for him.
So when you asked him one fine evening to meet him, he looked pale. You struggled to keep in your laugh but eventually gave up and burst out laughing. He agreed to the plan anyways and finally today was the day.
You were still on your way when you received a text from him asking if wearing a suit would be too fancy but you encouraged him to. You didn't want him to be even a tad bit less handsome than your father.
Once gone, you entered the apartment quitely. The lights were dim in the living room so you concluded he was in the bedroom.
You made your way there and saw him in front of the wardrobe, selecting something to wear from the piles of clothes he had in there. You went behind him and back hugged his figure, startling him a little while doing so.
"Woah!! You scared the sh*t out of me babe.." he said, placing his palm over his chest. You grinned, placing an apologetic peck over his lips.
"We've to leave in an hour. Start getting ready, love" the nickname made you blush and you walked towards the bedroom to freshen up and change into something appropriate for the dinner.
As soon as you came out of the bathroom with a towel around your body, you saw Jin struggling with his bow tie as he tried every knot in the book placed on the dresser.
Was he hoping one of them would just turn out to be the right knot? Maybe….
His frustration was amusing to you because you were right here and he refused to ask for help unless you offered it to him.
“Just let me do it, Jin,” You laughed. He shook his head and kept trying the 100th kind of knot with a cute pout on his lips.
“We can’t be late for dinner” You said, walking towards your own side of the cupboard to get your dress out. After a few minutes, you were dressed to the nines. It’s not that the occasion was anything too special but you were meeting up with your parents at a fancy restaurant and you didn’t want to put a bad impression by being late or underdressed for the venue.
Jin groaned in frustration and looked at you with pleading eyes “Jagi… Please help?”
You nod your head and got off the bed you were sitting on to walk towards him. You popped his collar up and slid the tie under it before beginning to tie it.
“It’s okay to ask me for help, you know.” Your voice was laced with slight amusement at how stubborn he was sometimes.
“It’s okay to come and help even if I don’t ask, you know.” He quipped back. Well, you guess you were just as stubborn as he was.
You neatly finished tying off the bow and pressed it down so the wrinkles Jin’s incessant abuse had caused could be minimized. “Now, let’s go. We’re fifteen minutes away from the restaurant and it’s better to be early than to be late.” You folded his collar back down and looked back up at him and he was looking at you with a soft smile on his face.
