"One day, I'm going to share a kiss just like that with you Y/N" 10 year old naive Jungkook said while on a sleepover with you and his other friends. You all were watching the movie 'The Notebook' when the infamous Kiss in the Rain scene came onto the screen.
"Why me?" You asked confused. Everyone in the room started looking at the two of you exceptionally.
"Cuz you're my best friend" he simply said with a shrug of his shoulder and went back to munching the popcorn and watching the movie.
You didn't pay much mind to the statement because it was a childish thing to say and assume.
A few years later
Now you both are in highschool. Jungkook became the hot shot of the campus and you became the quiet and nerdy girl. Your friends changed, your lives changed but the only thing that remained the same was that he was still your best friend and you were his. That was a constant.
"What is your biggest desire kook? One of the guys in your group, Jimin, asked in a game of truth and dare.
"To kiss her like 'The Notebook'" there was no hesitancy in his words. He was still the adamant Jungkook from 8 years back who'd expressed his desire for that heavenly kiss. You'd like to call it heavenly.
Present time
You sometimes like to look back in time to figure out when things changed and everything turned around between you and Jungkook. Your childhood best friend, the goofy kook suddenly turned into this muscular handsome man. Yes he is a man now.
It always pinches your heart how you ended up being in a relationship with him. Being his 'Friends with Benefits'
You know what they say, one can control his heart only so much from falling for the one they share a bed with almost everyday. For the past 2 months that you've unexpectedly agreed to be his partner, this is the one thing you've been dreading. Falling in love with him.
And look at god's grace, finally after trying so hard for all this time, you managed to fall for him. But you couldn't blame anyone. He was the definition of nice. The way he handled you in bed and the aftercare and all the sweet nothings he'd whisper in your ears were so damn too hard to ignore. Not to mention the fact that he's basically your other half being your best friend. He could see right through you.
So, now you contemplate. If you should tell him the bitter truth or if you should keep it hidden under the bedroom eyes you'd be giving him in a few hours. The choice was simpler than you thought. Hiding is the best option. And so you did.
Dressed in the prettiest dress he got for you last week and did your hair. Just then your phone dinged.
'Be ready. We're going out. And dress in something comfortable' the text said. It was Jungkook and he wanted to go out. You let out a small smile. The little flutter you felt in your heart made you giddy.
Without wasting another chance, you got out of the dress you're wearing and changed into a comfortable shirt and jeans. Tying your hair up in a ponytail, you went out of your house.
He was waiting for you outside in his car. You smiled and followed him to the passenger seat. He held the door for you to get in and then shut it coming back to the driver's. The drive started with his soft hand over yours on your lap and the gentle circles he was tracing on your skin. Just like a… gentlemen.
"Where are we going Kook?" You peered from your side of the car.
" You'll see" the simple reply fueled up your curiosity more but with no choice, you sat back. The scenery outside slowly drifted from busy streets to the tranquil outskirts of the city.
The weather was getting darker with the sudden clouds forming. The journey came to a halt near what looked like an empty ground. The same kind you used to play with Jungkook when you were kids.
"What is this koo? Why are we here?" You asked as you walked through the dried meadow. Just as you were somewhere in the middle, a sudden thunderstorm broke out and in a few seconds, it started raining.
You looked up and then trying to cover up your head you ran back to where Jungkook was standing. "Run! You'll get cold" you tugged at his sleeves but he didn't budge. He suddenly grabbed your wrist and pulled you back towards him.
"You remember?" He asked when he had you right Infront of him. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion.
"My deepest desire.." he said slowly bringing his lips to your ear and whispered "is to kiss you like the movie"
Your breath literally hitched at the words and blush crept up your cheeks when you felt his hands running up yours and not long after, his hands were on your nape.
"I'm sorry this isn't the ideal place and not the ideal setting and if you want to kiss me or not but I really.. mhmm" his words were cut off in the middle by your cold lips crashing onto his.
The moment lasted a bit longer than you anticipated as the air was knocked out of both of your lungs. You pulled away, breathing heavily and eyes still closed in pure Bliss.
"You talk too much koo" you rasped, forehead attached to his you let out a small chuckle.
"I've been waiting to do this for so long" you whispered against his lips. Now it was his turn to giggle as he felt your hot breath over his skin. Without wasting another second, he pressed his lips on yours as the rain trickled down your bodies.
The weather might be getting cold but as the two of you were moulding your lips together, heat was continuously travelling throughout your body.
As he said, it wasn't an ideal place or the best scenario to replicate the heavenly kiss but it was just perfect. You didn't need a beach or water or sunset or a flower valley to have his lips around yours. You only needed him and he was right there.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally pulled back. You instantly missed the warmth of his mouth on yours. "I want to terminate the deal" he said in a hushed tone, merely a whisper.
"I'd like that" you do. You've been in love with him and would like nothing more than to finally have him.
"So… what are we now? Official couple?" He asked. The words blissful on his tongue.
"Ask me out first!" You said with a small fist punch on his chest.
"Be mine Y/N" there it was. The words of assurance. You didn't take another second to nod and kiss the living lights out of him.
You could have sworn, if Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling would have seen you in the moment, they'd be pretty jealous. You were perfect. The rain was perfect and the scene in itself was pretty perfect.
