35: The Mines

HIS POV

I ran worried to death. But my job is so hard. I have to run from one corner to another. The mines collapsed again and their already freeing the survivors. Jessica is nowhere to be found and people were already whispering about a force marriage between her with a rich man and her mom with a rich man also. Their powers and intelligence were wanted. But deep in my heart I knew Jessica wasn't some kind of gold digger. But her mom is. So I knew she would accept a rich man. I had stopped and made first air kit appear in this mines. The group leader is bruised.

"Where is the rest of your team?" He asked shocked

"Other mines collapsed... We are spread out to help everyone... But we are jumping from mine to mine" I answered tired

I am near Jessica so I have to go and check on her "Oh my god... Which one was the largest?"

"The one near our homes... We lost two houses for now no deaths... But if you have healthy men utilize them to bandage the rest... I have to run to the last mine to hand the medical kit..." I explain gently

It was starting to get dark "Alright... When everyone is bandaged we will send them home for the week... Until we figure out what happened"

"Understood" I say with a nod

I started running towards the last mines. They were close to a gate were a bus picks up the chosen men and woman to go to the rich areas. Or does who have accumulated enough to change jobs and move out of this place and leave. It's a one way thing. Rumors of rich men and woman sometimes living in nature. Or turning their homes into paradise. It was something Jessica wished for and I wanted to give that to her. The Higher ranks were already processing a transfer for me and her. To have a better job. A better living. I wanted to give her everything she wanted. But then I noticed the mines scrambling. Isn't she there? Didn't she provide the medical aid? She is a healer though. So healing everyone is easier and faster.

Then I noticed the group of woman and children passing through the gate. That's weird. So I ran that way and they were wounded also. How come woman and children were also hurt? Did their husbands make homes for them near the mines? That is prohibited. The ones near the largest mines was still a good distance but still got crumbled because of the land slide and the earth shaking from the large mines collapsing. The woman and children were ignoring me. As if I am a ghost. Then I noticed Jessica. She looked beautiful in a dress. So I rush to her and grab her giving her the biggest hug.

"Your ok..." I whispered

"I am ok dummy... What are you doing here?" She asked a bit confused

"Came to help... Like always... All groups are assisting the mines from worst to least... So they didn't need me so I came to help you an animal tamer will come soon also" I explain as I looked at her in the face

"Well... Ok..." She didn't look happy

I separated from her and I noticed the rich man at the distance "I know what their gonna do to your mom! But... I thought it was lies..."

"No... Mom and dad are reconnecting in their own weird ways... While I..."

"Don't say it... Just go..." I tell her

My heart tore apart and she was shocked "I know what Ashley did..."

"The whole bet thing? I already paid it of" I tell her as my heart broke more

"No you idiot! You don't know?" She asked a bit mad

"Know about what?" I asked confused

She groans out "Your an idiot at times..."
