We stayed out all afternoon and well into the evening.

Tabarik led the way down to the river and Keira followed, keeping to his side and occasionally pouncing on him, making the two fall to the soft, lush green grass. Keira was very playful and did this several times until eventually Tabarik got fed up and smacked her on her head.

Undignified by the reprimand, Keira growled and smacked him back. Amused by her bratty behavior, Tabarik put a heavy paw on her head and nuzzled her affectionately. After having recovered from the brattiness, she continued running with Tabarik close behind.

The afternoon spent by the river was most pleasant and the two thoroughly enjoyed it. When Keira and I got hungry, Tabarik went to the water's edge and scanned the clear shallows for salmon, which to our fortune, made the river their home and could frequently be seen in abundance this time of year.

With a fat twelve inch one in sight, he readied himself and waited until it was centimeters from grasp. With a fluid motion he ducked his head down and grabbed it. Dropping it down on the ground he waited until it succumbed to its death then the two of us dug into the succulent flesh, ripping it apart and hungrily devouring it.

Once we were satiated, we laid on the grass basking in the warm afternoon sun, giving our stomachs a chance to digest. When the sun started to set we decided to head back. When we arrived at the mansion, the courtyard was vacant with the exception of a few guard who were patrolling the area.

They bowed their heads out of respect for their Alpha and waved cordially at Keira. Padding over to the side of the mansion away from prying eyes, I quickly shifted and donned a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. I moved so Uncle Trevor could also shift. He emerged wearing jeans and a sweater.

When we entered the mansion I could hear loud music, talking and laughing coming from the living room. Uncle Trevor raised an eyebrow and we walked in. What we saw made us halt in our tracks. Nearly two dozen wolves both male and female were here, partying hard and dancing to the pounding rock music that blared from the speakers.

Some were drinking beer while a few were playing cards on the floor, littered with snack wrappers and empty bottles. The air reeked of cigarette smoke and sweat. Uncle Trevor clenched his fists and his eyes roamed the crowd for Bradley who was evidently the cause of all this.

We spotted him drinking with friends near the sofa, on his arm was a girl who looked to be eighteen or nineteen. I recognized her as the pack doctor's daughter. Angered by this, Uncle Trevor marched over and grabbed Bradley by his arm, forcing him to turn around. "Dad? What are you doing here?" judging by the tone of his voice he clearly didn't expect Uncle Trevor to be back so soon.

"Who told you you could throw a party tonight?" Uncle Trevor demanded. "We're leaving for an important meeting at Gemstone Hall tomorrow, everyone is supposed to get to bed early tonight!"
"Speak for yourself! I can get up early," Bradley said with a roll of his eyes. "And please don't embarrass me in front of my friends."
"I'll do more than embarrass you if you don't call off this party!"

This exchange had attracted the attention of the majority of party-goers and they stopped what they were doing immediately.
"I'm sorry everyone, but the party's over. I'm going to have to ask you to leave," I said, politely but assertively.

There was a brief bout of mumbles and whispers before someone switched off the music and everyone else gathered up their belongings to depart. When it was just the three of us, Bradley turned to me with a harsh glare. "What the hell did you do that for?!"

"Don't you dare speak to her like that," Uncle Trevor intervened.
"Why not?! Who gave her the right to give orders in this house?"
"She didn't give an order Bradley, it was a request. No one took offense in her asking them to leave. I see no reason why you should. She said nothing wrong."
